Authorize.net payments for WooCommerce
Secure Gateway for Authorize.net and WooCommerce by Pledged Plugins Enterprise connects a WooCommerce store with an Authorize.net merchant account so customers can pay by credit card. The Enterprise edition combines everyday gateway controls with capabilities for recurring products, pre-orders, saved payment methods, ACH transactions, and supported upsell workflows.
It is intended for store owners who want to manage Authorize.net transactions from WooCommerce while keeping payment configuration and order actions close to the WordPress dashboard. An active Authorize.net account, WooCommerce 3.3 or later, and a valid SSL certificate are required.
Payment and checkout capabilities
- Secure card processing: Uses the Accept.js library to send payment data directly to Authorize.net, helping reduce the PCI scope. The plugin does not store customer credit card numbers or sensitive information on the website.
- Refunds from the dashboard: Process full or partial refunds from WordPress without searching for the order in the Authorize.net account.
- Authorize now, capture later: Choose to authorize a transaction first and capture it at a later date.
- Card type restrictions: Restrict selected card types when needed. The gateway can hide the relevant card icon and show an appropriate checkout error message.
- Gateway receipts: Optionally send receipts from the Authorize.net merchant account.
- Logging: Enable logging to help investigate issues that arise during gateway use.
Enterprise features for growing stores
Recurring payments and pre-orders
Use the gateway with the WooCommerce Subscriptions extension to create and manage products with recurring payments. It also works with the WooCommerce Pre-Orders extension, allowing customers to order products before they are available. Their card details can then be charged automatically when the pre-order becomes available.
Saved cards and ACH payments
The saved-card option lets customers use stored card details held on the gateway servers for a faster checkout experience. Sensitive card data is not stored on the website. Enterprise also supports eCheck payments through the ACH network.
Upsell compatibility
The gateway is compatible with FunnelKit, formerly WooFunnels, One Click Upsells. This supports stores that include post-purchase or checkout upsell steps in their sales workflow.
Typical workflow
After connecting the store to an Authorize.net merchant account, configure the available gateway fields in WooCommerce. Select the payment and checkout options that fit the store, such as card restrictions, receipts, delayed capture, saved cards, or ACH. Orders can then be reviewed in WordPress, with refunds, logging, and recurring or pre-order activity handled through the corresponding workflow.
Installation and requirements
The plugin uses a one-click installation process. After installation, only a few fields need to be completed before the store is ready to accept credit card payments. Testing can be performed with an Authorize.net sandbox account. A valid SSL certificate is required for customer card details and PCI DSS compliance.
WooCommerce version 3.3 or later is required, along with an active Authorize.net account. The plugin is not affiliated with or supported by Authorize.net, WooCommerce.com, or Automattic.
