Connected consent management for WordPress
Cookie Compliance Professional is a paid plan for Cookie Compliance, the consent management platform whose WordPress component displays the consent banner on your site. The plugin works with the Cookie Compliance dashboard, where you configure the banner, manage domains, and keep consent records.
Professional is used in Connected mode. After signing in to Cookie Compliance from inside WordPress, the connected setup provides platform features beyond the standalone Banner Only mode. These include automatic script blocking, cookie purpose categories, consent records, Google, Microsoft, and Facebook consent modes, multilingual banners, and multi-domain management.
Clearer visitor choices
The connected banner uses Intentional Consent with three equal choices. Visitors can accept none, some, or all cookies through packaged Data Access Levels. This gives people a direct way to make a consent decision without relying on unequal first-layer choices.
Visitors can also select how long their consent remains valid for the site. Purpose categories make it possible to customize consent by category, while consent metrics show the visitor’s consent record and a list of blocked or allowed third parties in the expanded banner view.
Technical compliance workflow
Automatic script blocking helps control third-party technologies according to the consent provided. Purpose categories organize those choices, and consent records provide a place to retain the relevant consent information through the Cookie Compliance platform. The connected service includes formatting guidelines and technical compliance requirements for more than 100 countries and legal jurisdictions.
Consent modes for Google, Microsoft, and Facebook support workflows involving those platforms. Multilingual banners are available for sites serving visitors in multiple languages, and multi-domain management lets you manage every domain associated with your Cookie Compliance account from the dashboard.
WordPress integration
The plugin integrates with the WordPress Privacy Policy page and supports WPML and Polylang. When the free WP Consent API companion plugin is active, Cookie Compliance registers as the active Consent Management Platform. Cooperative plugins, including WooCommerce, Google Site Kit, Burst Statistics, WP Statistics, AddToAny, and Pixel Manager for WooCommerce, can then gate themselves based on the consent visitors provide through the banner.
Cookie Compliance is one product with two connected parts: the WordPress plugin runs the banner, while the web dashboard provides configuration, domain management, and consent records. The Professional plan belongs to the paid Connected mode rather than the independent Banner Only setup.
Installation and setup
Install the Cookie Compliance plugin in WordPress and activate it. To use Professional features, connect the plugin to Cookie Compliance by signing in from inside WordPress. Configure the banner, consent choices, purpose categories, script controls, languages, consent modes, and domains in the connected dashboard, then review the banner on your site before publishing.
