Flexible video embeds for WordPress
ARVE Pro is a paid add-on for Advanced Responsive Video Embedder, a WordPress video embedding plugin designed to work with many video hosts and formats. It supports responsive embeds, privacy-focused presentation, SEO-related video information, and several WordPress editing environments.
Use ARVE with the Classic Editor, Block Editor, or Elementor. In the Classic Editor, an Embed Video button helps create ARVE shortcodes. In the Block Editor, ARVE works with Embed, YouTube, Vimeo, Shortcode, and its own ARVE Block. Elementor users can use an ARVE widget covering the available feature set.
Pro presentation features
ARVE Pro provides tools for controlling how videos appear and behave on a page. Lazy loading displays an image instead of the complete video player when the page loads. A lightbox can open the video after a visitor clicks a lazy-load preview, and simple links can also act as lightbox triggers.
- Disable links in embeds: help prevent visitors from following links in video embeds to the hosting site.
- Auto pause: pause one video when another video starts playing.
- Thumbnails: use automatic or custom thumbnail images, with responsive thumbnails using srcset.
- Titles: add automatic or custom titles above thumbnails.
- Expand on click: provide an expanded viewing interaction.
- Controls: choose from two hover icon styles and three play icon styles.
- Sticky videos: keep videos visible while scrolling, with top or corner positioning options.
Embedding and provider controls
ARVE accepts provider URLs on their own line, WordPress embed shortcodes, and its own concise shortcode format. Custom URL parameters let you use options offered by individual providers. You can set a maximum width, choose alignment, and use an automatically detected or custom aspect ratio. Responsive embeds use CSS rather than JavaScript.
The plugin supports providers with iframe embed codes, including YouTube, Vimeo, Rumble, Odysee-related services, Kick, Twitch, TikTok, Facebook, Dailymotion, Wistia, Brightcove, Archive.org, Google Drive, TED Talks, and others listed by the plugin. It also supports mp4 and webm video files.
SEO and channel options
ARVE lets you specify a video title, description, and upload date for schema.org data intended to help search engines index video content. ARVE Pro can autofill this information. You can also display the latest video from a YouTube channel by using the channel URL; the result is updated and cached hourly.
Practical use cases
Use ARVE Pro for responsive video libraries, tutorials, product demonstrations, interviews, playlists, landing pages, and media-heavy articles. Lazy-load previews can reduce the amount of video content loaded at page view, while lightboxes and sticky positioning provide alternative viewing experiences.
Installation
After purchasing ARVE Pro, follow the three steps provided with the purchase receipt. The process includes downloading the arve-pro.zip file and installing it through the WordPress Admin panel. ARVE also provides an AMP add-on for displaying ARVE embeds correctly on AMP pages.
