Advanced maps for WordPress content
CodePeople Post Map for Google Maps lets you place Google Maps in posts or WordPress templates while displaying locations associated with your content. In a single post, the map can show the post’s geolocation and, optionally, recent posts from related categories. In templates, it can display markers for posts on the page and highlight a related post when visitors hover over its marker.
The paid editions are Premium and Developer. Premium adds advanced point management, filtering, routes, search, map presentation, imports, and dynamic location tools. Developer includes Premium features and adds contact forms, notification emails, point email assignments, Contact Form 7 shortcodes, and point-associated map icons.
Premium mapping capabilities
- Load points from specific posts, categories, tags, or all posts.
- Use location information and descriptions in post search.
- Associate multiple points with a post or page.
- Draw routes and shapes, with travel-mode options for routes.
- Add a place search box.
- Create legends using categories, tags, or taxonomies to control visibility.
- Add links for directions, Google Maps, or Street View.
- Display multiple maps per post or page using the same points.

Display and presentation controls
Paid map settings include width, height, margins, alignment, map type, language, drag behavior, controls, zoom, and the number of points shown. Maps can use roadmap, satellite, terrain, or hybrid views. Dynamic zoom can display all points together, while a fixed zoom value can be used when dynamic zoom is disabled.
You can show or hide information bubbles, open a bubble by default, display a map directly or use an icon in posts and pages, and show a featured image in an information window when a point has no associated image. Premium and Developer editions also support map routes, grouped markers, and displaying the visitor’s location.
Developer edition tools
The Developer edition includes the Premium feature set and adds contact forms linked to map points. It can send notification emails from form submissions, assign unique or global email addresses to points, and support Contact Form 7 shortcodes in point descriptions. Images associated with points can also be used as map icons.
Filtering with shortcodes
Use shortcode attributes to load points by category, multiple categories, or all points. A configured map can also be referenced by its map ID. Map attributes can define dimensions, alignment, zoom, map type, language, and other display settings. This allows maps to be inserted in posts, pages, templates, widgets, and other supported WordPress locations.
Installation and setup
Install the selected paid edition in WordPress, then configure its map settings and point locations. Add maps to posts or templates with the plugin shortcode, or use the available settings to associate maps with content. For advanced layouts, configure filtering, routes, clusters, imports, widgets, or Developer contact-form options as needed.
