Connect WordPress with Clicky analytics
Clicky Pro integrates the Clicky web analytics service into a WordPress website. It adds the Clicky tracking code throughout the site and brings selected Clicky information into the WordPress administration experience. This provides a practical way to connect site activity with the analytics service while keeping important tracking options available from the plugin.
The integration is suited to publishers, site owners, and marketers who want to monitor visitors, define goals for posts or pages, and examine outbound activity such as affiliate links. Clicky Pro also includes options for deciding how administrators, cookies, commenters, and comments are handled.
Tracking and privacy controls
- Automatic tracking code: Add the Clicky tracking code across the WordPress site without manually placing it in individual templates.
- Administrator exclusion: Use the option to ignore administrators when collecting site activity.
- Cookie control: Disable the use of cookies through the available plugin option.
- Commenter names: Choose whether names of commenters are stored.
- Comment actions: Store comments as actions through Clicky’s internal data logging API. This functionality requires a Clicky Pro account.
Goals, revenue, and outbound links
Clicky Pro can track posts and pages as goals. A revenue value can be assigned to a selected post or page, helping connect content activity with a defined outcome. This is useful when a website uses articles, landing pages, or other WordPress content as part of a measurable conversion path.
The plugin also lets you add outbound-link pattern matching. This can be used for affiliate links and other external-link formats that you want to identify in Clicky analytics. Pattern-based matching gives site owners a way to distinguish relevant outbound activity from general external navigation.
WordPress dashboard visibility
An overview of site statistics is available on the WordPress dashboard. Clicky Pro also adds a small statistics indicator to the WordPress toolbar, showing visitors from the last 48 hours. These at-a-glance views help administrators check recent activity without leaving the WordPress interface.
Typical workflow
Install the plugin, connect it with the Clicky analytics service, and configure the tracking options that fit the site. Decide whether administrators should be ignored, whether cookies should be used, and whether commenter names should be stored. Add goals for relevant posts or pages, assign revenue where appropriate, and define outbound-link patterns for affiliate or other tracked links. Review the resulting statistics from the WordPress dashboard and toolbar, then use Clicky for the broader analytics view.
Installation and account requirement
Install and activate Clicky by Yoast in WordPress, then configure its Clicky integration settings. A Clicky Pro account is required for the comment action functionality that uses the internal data logging API. After setup, confirm the tracking and goal options before reviewing activity in the dashboard. For bugs, the plugin information directs users to its GitHub repository for reporting.
