WordPress login security management
Melapress Login Security Premium is designed to help administrators create and manage detailed login security policies for WordPress sites. Policies can be applied site-wide or assigned by user role, with policy priority available for users who have multiple roles. The Premium edition includes the features available in the free edition and adds further controls for accounts, sessions, devices, and sensitive actions.
Premium account controls
Administrators can manually lock user accounts when access should be stopped immediately. This can be useful for rarely used accounts or users who are away for an extended period. Premium also supports automatically disabling inactive WordPress user accounts. Inactive accounts can be managed from a single dashboard, helping administrators review and respond to them more efficiently.
When an account is unlocked, administrators can require its password to be reset. Login lockout settings can also be configured around failed login attempts, including the duration and method used to unlock an affected account. These controls work alongside password policies such as minimum length, character requirements, expiration, password history restrictions, first-login resets, and optional password-reset-link disabling.
Additional login safeguards
- Require security questions when users perform sensitive actions, including password resets and account unlocks.
- Receive email alerts when a login is detected from an unrecognized device.
- Remotely terminate a session associated with an unrecognized device.
- Extend or shorten session timeouts to balance security and convenience.
- Limit access to the login page by IP address.
- Change the WordPress login URL and configure the old URL to return a 404 response or redirect to a selected page.
- Add a GDPR consent notice to the WordPress login page.
- Provide temporary login access through expiring or usage-limited links without creating additional user accounts.
- Reset all users’ passwords with one click when suspicious behavior requires an immediate response.
Practical workflows
Use role-based policies to apply different password and login requirements to administrators, editors, members, or other user groups. Review inactive accounts from one dashboard, lock access for users who no longer need it, and require a new password when access is restored. When a user signs in from an unfamiliar device, an email alert and remote session termination option give administrators additional ways to respond.
The plugin also supports one-click integration with third-party plugins such as WooCommerce, LearnDash, and MemberPress, along with other integrations referenced by the product. This can help align login controls with sites that use these WordPress extensions.
Installation and setup
Install Melapress Login Security Premium on the WordPress site, activate it, and open its settings to configure the required policies. Choose whether each policy applies site-wide or to particular user roles, then review account, device, session, IP, and consent settings. Before applying restrictions broadly, check the configured lockout and recovery methods so administrators can manage affected accounts.
