Multi-currency tools for WooCommerce
FOX Professional is a paid currency switcher for WooCommerce stores that need to present product prices in multiple currencies. Customers can switch currencies while browsing and, when the relevant setting is enabled, pay in the currency they selected. The Professional edition also supports an unlimited number of currencies, making it suitable for stores serving customers across different markets.
The switcher can be displayed as a widget in any widgetized area or inserted with the [woocs] shortcode. This gives store administrators flexibility to place currency selection in a sidebar, header, top menu, or another location where shoppers can find it. Ajaxed shortcodes and widgets are also available for a currency converter and currency rates.
Currency display and design
FOX Professional provides several presentation styles for the currency switcher: a drop-down, flags, and a side switcher. Flags can be assigned to individual currencies. The built-in Smart Designer can be used to create a customized multi-currency drop-down without relying on a single fixed presentation.
Price formatting can be adapted to the requirements of each currency. Administrators can set the number of decimals, choose a standard or custom money sign, and select its position. Cents may be shown or hidden for individual currencies, and each currency can have its own decimal precision. Custom money symbols and custom currency formats are supported, including currencies that are not represented by a real-world currency.
Rates and pricing rules
Rates can be updated through more than seven currency aggregators or entered manually. Automatic updates can be scheduled hourly, twice daily, daily, weekly, monthly, or every 5, 15, 30, or 45 minutes. Automatic updates can also be disabled when manually maintained rates are preferred. Administrators can optionally receive email notices about currency rate changes.
The plugin includes fixed-price rules and amount rules, along with pricing based on user role and country. GeoIP rules can help apply different currency behavior by location. Payment rules and an API are also included for stores that need additional control over multi-currency behavior.
Price separators can be set according to the currency or business logic through the documented woocs_price_thousand_sep and woocs_price_decimal_sep hooks. These controls help adapt thousands and decimal separators to a store’s pricing requirements.
Checkout and integrations
When the multiple-currency checkout option is enabled, customers can pay in their selected currency. FOX also states compatibility with several WooCommerce-related tools, including product filters, product feed generators, booking and rental software, and points and rewards software. The source describes 95% compatibility with different payment gateways in multi-currency mode.
Installation
Install FOX Professional as a WordPress plugin, then open its settings to add currencies, configure rates, choose display options, and define pricing or payment rules. Add the widget or place the [woocs] shortcode where the switcher should appear. Review the checkout setting if customers should be able to pay in their selected currency.
