A more configurable WordPress search experience
Relevanssi Premium replaces the standard WordPress search with a search engine focused on relevance and configurable result presentation. It can sort results by relevance rather than date, match partial words when complete words are unavailable, and support either OR searches or AND searches that require all terms to appear.
Visitors can search for exact phrases using quotation marks, while custom excerpts can show where a match was found and highlight the search terms. Search terms can also be highlighted in the document after a visitor clicks through from the results.

Control what search includes
Relevanssi can search comments, tags, categories, custom fields, custom post types, custom taxonomies, and shortcode contents. You can adjust the weighting of titles, tags, and comments, restrict searches to categories or tags, and use advanced filtering to shape search results.
Query logging can show popular searches and recent searches with no hits. Google-style “Did you mean?” suggestions can be based on successful user searches. The plugin also includes search result throttling for performance on large databases and provides a filter hook for disabling indexing of post content and post titles.
Useful site applications
Premium is suited to sites where visitors need to find information across more than standard posts and pages. A document library can index office and PDF attachment content, while a multisite installation can make content from multiple sites searchable in one experience. Membership-oriented sites can use profile and taxonomy indexing to make more structured information discoverable.
Relevanssi supports multisite, bbPress, Gutenberg, WPML, Polylang, and several membership plugins listed by the product source, including s2member, Members, Groups, and Simple Membership.
Installation and configuration
Install Relevanssi Premium in WordPress, activate it, and open its settings to configure the search index and result behavior. Review the included contextual help from the Help menu in the WordPress admin dashboard, and use the Relevanssi Knowledge Base for solutions and answers.
Before using the plugin, check available database space. Relevanssi may require a large amount of database storage; the source recommends estimating roughly three times the size of the wp_posts database table. Limited database-table space may cause problems.
