Extend Advanced Custom Fields for structured WordPress projects
Advanced Custom Fields: Extended Pro is an enhancement suite for WordPress and Advanced Custom Fields. It provides a broader administration framework for developers building structured content, custom interfaces, reusable layouts, and advanced editorial workflows. The plugin requires at least ACF Pro 5.8.
The Pro edition adds more than 20 new ACF fields, enhances more than 10 existing fields, and introduces more than 20 new field group locations. It also includes tools for flexible content, field visibility, conditional rules, metadata management, forms, options pages, block types, and WordPress administration.
Build richer fields and content structures

Advanced field group locations include advanced targeting for posts, menu items, and taxonomy terms. These locations can use conditions such as post author, date, slug, path, menu item depth, menu item type, and taxonomy term criteria. The result is a more adaptable way to present fields in context across a WordPress installation.
Manage layouts, blocks, and administration
The Flexible Content tools support page-builder-style workflows, while the Templates Manager helps organize reusable flexible content layouts. The Pro edition also includes a built-in Classic Editor settings interface, screen layout controls, and the ability to force JSON synchronization. These tools can help development teams keep editing and field configuration more consistent.
The Dynamic Block Types module lets administrators register and manage ACF Block Types from the WordPress administration. In Pro, block types can be synchronized with JSON and PHP files. The Dynamic Options Pages module similarly allows ACF Options Pages to be registered and managed from the administration, with Pro synchronization for JSON and PHP files.
Developer and editorial workflow tools
Advanced Custom Fields: Extended includes an enhanced Forms module for managing Advanced ACF Forms from the WordPress administration. It retains native ACF form settings while adding more settings and actions for controlling form behavior. The Developer Mode module provides readable views of custom metadata for posts, terms, users, and options, making it useful when checking what is saved in WordPress objects.
Field group tools include automatic synchronization with local PHP files, JSON synchronization controls, force synchronization, custom keys and metadata, categories, alternative display titles, additional instruction placements, and advanced Field Group UI enhancements. The plugin also supports WPML and Polylang multilingual workflows.
Installation and requirements
Before installing Advanced Custom Fields: Extended Pro, ensure that ACF Pro 5.8 or later is available, as this plugin requires it. Install the extension in WordPress, then review the available modules and Pro settings. Configure field groups, locations, synchronization options, forms, options pages, and block types according to the structure of the project. Enable only the administration and development tools needed for the intended workflow.
