Bring Facebook comments into your WordPress content
Facebook Comments Pro extends Social comments by WpDevArt with additional controls for presenting Facebook comments on a website. The plugin is designed for sites that want to display Facebook discussions on pages or posts while giving administrators more control over the appearance and placement of the comment box.
The plugin uses a Facebook App ID and can be configured to display comments where they are most useful. It can also be disabled on individual pages or posts when a comment box is not appropriate for that content.
What the Pro edition adds
The Pro edition includes the core settings available in the plugin and adds several presentation options:
- Color scheme selection for the Facebook comments box.
- Background color control for adapting the box to the surrounding page design.
- Position settings for choosing how the comments area is placed.
- 39 animation effects for adding a visual entrance effect to the comments box.
- Premium support for questions and reported plugin bugs.
Core configuration options
Alongside the Pro additions, the plugin provides settings for the box title, title text color, font size, font family, and title position. You can choose where the Facebook box appears, set its width, select the number of remarks to display, and set the language with a language code such as en_US or de_DE.
These controls make it possible to adapt the comments area for different types of content. A site can use a particular title style, width, language, and display position for its pages and posts, while excluding the box from selected content when needed.
Shortcode and PHP use
The plugin supports adding the comments box to pages and posts with a shortcode. The shortcode can include values for the Facebook App ID, current URL, title text, title styling, width, background color, animation effect, language, and comment count.
It can also be added through PHP code. The shortcode attributes include options such as curent_url, title_text, title_text_color, title_text_font_size, title_text_font_famely, title_text_position, width, count_of_comments, bg_color, and animation_effect.
Practical uses
- Display Facebook discussions beneath selected posts.
- Use title and typography settings to match the comments box to a site layout.
- Adjust the box width, language, and number of displayed remarks.
- Use position, background, and animation controls to create a more tailored presentation.
- Exclude comments from pages or posts where they are not required.
Installation and setup
Upload the plugin’s .zip file through the WordPress plugin installation screen; the file does not need to be extracted first. After installation, enter the Facebook App ID in the plugin’s main options, configure the display settings, and add the shortcode to the required pages or posts. The plugin also provides a PHP-code usage option for sites that need to place the comments box programmatically.
