Connect WordPress Forms with Mailchimp
Contact Form 7 Mailchimp Pro connects supported WordPress form plugins with Mailchimp so form submissions can be sent to selected Mailchimp lists. It supports Contact Form 7, WPForms, Elementor Forms, Ninja Forms, Formidable Forms, Contact Form Entries, and other popular contact form plugins.
The paid edition is designed for websites that need more control than a basic form-to-list connection. You can connect a Mailchimp account, choose a list, map form fields to Mailchimp fields, and review the result of submitted entries. The plugin displays Mailchimp merge fields to make field selection and mapping easier.
Flexible Mailchimp Data Mapping
Create Mailchimp feeds for your forms and map the information collected by each form to the appropriate Mailchimp list fields. The paid features include support for Mailchimp tags, GDPR fields, the phone number field, and custom Mailchimp fields. Mailchimp interest groups are also available for more specific subscriber organization.
The plugin can create a new Mailchimp member when no matching member exists. If a member already exists, it can update that member instead. You can also send one or more contact form fields as Mailchimp member notes when a form is submitted.
Control When Data Is Sent
Not every submission needs to be sent to the same list. Use submission filtering to send entries based on user input, such as a checkbox used for newsletter subscriptions. This gives you a practical way to make sending rules depend on the information visitors provide.
Submissions can be sent automatically when someone submits a supported form. You can also manually send a saved Contact Form Entries submission by using the “Send to Mailchimp” action. This is useful when an entry was not sent initially or needs to be sent again.
Logs and Additional Visitor Data
The Mailchimp Logs area provides a record of form submissions and shows whether each entry was sent or not sent. From the logs, you can resend a contact form submission to Mailchimp. Google Analytics parameters and visitor geolocation can also be included with supported submissions.
The paid edition additionally includes lookup options for a lead’s email and phone using email and phone lookup APIs. These capabilities help extend the information associated with a Mailchimp contact when the relevant workflow requires it.
Setup Workflow
- Open the “Mailchimp Accounts” area and add an account using its Mailchimp API key. Multiple Mailchimp accounts can be connected.
- Open “Mailchimp Feeds,” select the desired list, and map the Mailchimp fields to fields from the chosen form.
- Submit a test entry and use the “Send to Mailchimp” action when a manual send is needed.
- Open “Mailchimp Logs” to verify the status of the submission and resend it if necessary.
Contact Form 7 Mailchimp Pro brings account connections, field mapping, conditional sending, paid Mailchimp fields, and submission tracking together for WordPress forms that need a more structured Mailchimp workflow.
