Conditional shipping rules for WooCommerce
Conditional Shipping for WooCommerce Pro lets you control which shipping methods are available according to conditions in the order and cart. It works with your existing shipping methods and shipping zones, so you can apply rules to flat rate, free shipping, pickup, or other methods created through WooCommerce shipping zones.
This is useful when different orders require different delivery options. For example, you can make Economy available for orders under 30 kg and require Freight for orders over 30 kg. Customers then see only the applicable shipping method at checkout.
Supported conditions
The plugin provides conditions for common order, product, and customer details. You can use them to restrict shipping methods based on:
- Productos
- Total weight
- Total length, height, width, and volume
- Order subtotal
- Product measurements
- Shipping class
- Category
- Coupon
- Number of items in the cart
- Whether the customer is logged in or logged out
- Customer user role
Product measurement conditions can help enforce limits such as allowing a method only when the highest product height in the cart is 10 cm or less. These rules can be combined with your existing shipping setup to match the requirements of different products and orders.
Pro capabilities
The Pro edition includes the available core features and adds further control over the checkout shipping experience. Set shipping costs conditionally, such as increasing the shipping cost by 20% for large items. You can also override shipping method titles according to conditions, helping present clearer delivery choices to customers.
Conditional notices let you display shipping information when specific rules are met. If an order cannot use any configured method, you can set a custom “no shipping methods available” message based on conditions. These options make it easier to explain delivery restrictions and costs directly in the checkout flow.
Existing and dynamic rates
Conditional Shipping for WooCommerce supports existing shipping methods rather than requiring a separate shipping system. It also supports dynamic shipping rates such as USPS and DHL. The plugin includes a debug mode to help with troubleshooting while you review how your shipping conditions behave.
Practical workflow
- Configure your shipping methods and zones in WooCommerce.
- Choose the methods that should be restricted or adjusted.
- Set conditions using order, product, cart, coupon, category, shipping class, or customer information.
- Add conditional costs, titles, notices, or a custom unavailable-method message where needed.
- Review the checkout result and use debug mode when troubleshooting rules.
Installation
Install Conditional Shipping for WooCommerce Pro on your WordPress site, then configure its rules alongside your existing WooCommerce shipping methods and zones. Use the checkout to review which methods are shown for different order conditions.
Support
Priority email support is available for the Pro version. The plugin’s support information also directs users to create a post on the WordPress plugin support forum, which is checked regularly, although a response cannot be guaranteed for all issues.
