Structured WordPress database cleanup
Advanced Database Cleaner Premium is a WordPress optimization plugin for reviewing and removing database clutter. It helps administrators identify unused, duplicated, expired, and orphaned data that can accumulate over time, including revisions, auto-drafts, comments, metadata, transients, options, tables, and cron jobs.
The plugin combines cleanup controls with previews, filters, database-size information, automation, logging, and ownership analysis. This makes it suitable for routine maintenance as well as investigations into data left behind by removed or inactive plugins and themes.
Review cleanup candidates before removal
Before running a cleanup, the interface can show the items available for removal and the database space associated with each item type. It also displays the total size that may be freed. Preview tables can be sorted by values such as name, date, size, or site ID, helping administrators inspect records in a more useful order.
Data views can show option values in original or formatted form for serialized and JSON structures, as well as other item types. Filters and a “keep last X days” rule allow cleanup to focus on older data rather than applying the same treatment to every record.
Routine cleanup options
Available cleanup areas include old post and page revisions, auto-drafts, trashed posts, pending comments, spam comments, trashed comments, pingbacks, trackbacks, unused post meta, comment meta, user meta, term meta, relationships, expired transients, duplicated post meta, duplicated user meta, duplicated comment meta, duplicated term meta, and oEmbed caches.
Additional cleanup tools cover orphaned product variations, orphaned customer analytics, and expired customer sessions in WooCommerce. Premium capabilities also include cleanup for Action Scheduler completed, failed, and canceled actions, their corresponding logs, and orphan logs.
Premium ownership detection
The Premium edition adds local scanning with Remote SmartScan technology to help identify the owners of tables, options, post meta, user meta, transients, and cron jobs. Its cloud-enhanced ownership detection can help identify orphaned items left by deleted plugins and themes.
Administrators can edit ownership when an item is misidentified and view multiple possible owners where applicable. Ownership status can indicate whether an owner is active, inactive, or not installed. The interface also provides an enhanced “Belongs to” column and a way to check remote scan credits.
Automation, analytics, and administration
Schedule cleanup tasks to run once, hourly, twice a day, daily, weekly, or monthly. Each task can specify which items to clean and how many days of data to retain. Scheduled database optimization and repair are also available, and tasks can be paused or resumed as needed. Multiple scheduled cleanup tasks can be created for different maintenance routines.
Built-in analytics help show how the database changes over time, while plugin and theme activity monitoring helps identify when new data is created or leftovers appear. Other tools include current database-size information, a logging system, direct access to the WordPress debug log, multisite support with network-wide cleanup from the main site, and a responsive interface with configurable tabs.
Installation
Install Advanced Database Cleaner Premium in WordPress and activate it. Open its interface to review database records, configure filters or retention rules, and create scheduled tasks. Preview cleanup candidates before removing data, and use the logging and debug-log tools when troubleshooting.
