Build responsive tables visually
WP Table Builder Pro is a paid WordPress table-building edition for creating responsive tables without a complex table-editing workflow. It is suited to comparison tables, pricing tables, list tables, and many other layouts that need structured content in rows and columns.
The builder uses a drag-and-drop interface. After choosing the number of columns and rows, you can generate a table and place elements into individual cells from the left panel. Each available element includes its own customization options, giving you control over the content used in different parts of a table.
Table content elements
WP Table Builder provides seven elements for building table layouts:
- Text for written table content.
- Image for visual content.
- List for grouped points or features.
- Button for button content within a cell.
- Star Rating for rating displays.
- Custom HTML for HTML-based content.
- Shortcode for inserting shortcode content.
Manage rows, columns, and cells
The cell management mode provides practical controls for changing the table structure as you work. You can add new rows, add new columns, merge cells, and split cells. This makes it possible to refine a table after its initial generation instead of rebuilding the layout from the beginning.
A typical workflow starts at Table Builder > Add New. Select the required row and column counts, click Generate, and drag elements into the cells. When editing is complete, save the table. The finished table can then be embedded in posts and pages with a shortcode.
Import and export options
Tables can be imported from CSV or XML files. Both single files and multiple files are supported, with multiple files supplied as a ZIP archive. You can also import tables created with the TablePress plugin.
Export is available in CSV and XML formats. When moving tables created with WP Table Builder to another site, XML is identified as the better choice because it preserves table settings. The shortcode is available through the Embed option at the top of the builder and from the All Tables list under the Table Builder menu.
Installation
PHP 5.6 or higher is required. Upload the plugin ZIP file through the WordPress plugin page by selecting Add New and choosing the file from your local computer. Activate the plugin from the Plugins menu. After activation, the Table Builder menu is available for creating and managing tables.
