Organize image credits across WordPress
Image Source Control Premium helps site owners manage and display information about image sources, copyright holders, licenses, and AI-generated images. It extends image credit workflows across content, galleries, featured images, archive pages, media library files, and selected block or builder contexts. The plugin is intended for publishers, creators, photographers, illustrators, and site teams that need a consistent way to record and present image information.
Flexible credit displays
Premium provides several ways to show image sources on the frontend. List image sources below the content of a specific page, place a list manually, or embed a complete credit list with thumbnails. Caption overlays can appear above or below an image, with controls for their layout and position. The source can be displayed in full or revealed only after a click or mouseover.
Image credits can be shown for images in content, galleries, shortcode-based images, and featured images. Per-page lists may be attached automatically or added with a shortcode or PHP function. Sources can also appear on archive pages. Link the copyright holder and add a link to the image license where applicable.
Sources, licenses, and AI labels
- Multiple source links: Add multiple links to a source string.
- External image management: Manage credits for images hosted outside the Media Library and handle images without file extensions.
- License management: Manage, display, and link available licenses.
- IPTC metadata: Display IPTC copyright metadata in the backend and use it as a standard frontend source.
- AI labels: Mark images as AI-generated with AI, AI-generated, or AI-manipulated icons.
- AI descriptions: Show only an icon or add description text in the image source field.
Media library and backend tools
Add credits to image files uploaded to the Media Library and use dedicated source fields for Image, Cover Image, Featured Image, and Media & Text blocks. Quickly assign a centrally defined source, hide sources for selected images, show a specific source such as your name, or use the uploader’s name. Missing-source warnings help identify incomplete records.
The Indexer looks for images in published content in one operation. Premium can list credits for images outside the content, show image usage in image details and the Media Library List view, bulk-edit copyright information, preview credits, and display a standard picture credit for images without a selected source. Filter the Media Library by images with or without sources or by images using the standard source.
Global lists and supported contexts
Choose which data appears in the Global List, include only images with a proper source, and display the list as a table or simple list. Premium also supports Elementor background images, images in Kadence Blocks Galleries, and Kadence Related Content Carousel. Developer options are available for overlay captions on CSS background images.
Installation
Install Image Source Control Premium in WordPress alongside the Image Source Control workflow, then add source details to Media Library files and configure how credits, captions, licenses, and AI labels should appear. Review the available frontend and backend options before publishing image credits.
