Ad-free video hosting inside WordPress
Jetpack Complete includes the VideoPress video player for WordPress, giving creators a centralized way to upload, manage, and publish video without sending visitors to another app. It is designed for videographers, filmmakers, educators, bloggers, and other site owners who want video to remain part of the website experience.
VideoPress provides a customizable, ad-free player so the focus stays on your content. Videos can be added directly from the WordPress Editor with the Jetpack VideoPress Block, or uploaded locally to the VideoPress cloud library. The VideoPress Dashboard provides a central place to manage the video collection, filter it by rating or privacy setting, and view the library in multiple ways.
Paid plan capabilities
With the paid plan, you can use unlimited videos with total storage of up to 1 TB. Individual files can be up to 5 GB, although slower networks may time out before larger uploads finish. The plan is included in Jetpack Complete.
- Hosted video storage and a video CDN for delivery across a global audience.
- High-resolution playback up to full 4K, including 1440p and 60 FPS video display.
- Adaptive streaming that adjusts playback quality according to bandwidth and display size, while allowing viewers to select quality from the player menu.
- Subtitles, captions, and chapters added through text tracks in the VideoPress block.
- Private videos and poster images for more controlled presentation.
- Picture-in-picture playback for viewers who want to pop the video out of the browser.
- A seekbar whose color adapts to scenes in the video.
- Mobile-optimized playback for switching between mobile and desktop viewing.
- Unlimited logins for teams working on the same site.
A practical WordPress video workflow
Upload a video to the Jetpack cloud library, then select it from the media workflow or add it directly through the VideoPress Block. Add supporting text tracks when subtitles, captions, or chapters are needed. Poster images and privacy settings can be applied as part of preparing the video for publication.
Once the video is inserted into a page or post, visitors can use the customizable player without encountering advertisements. Adaptive streaming helps the video respond to different network conditions and screen sizes, while the CDN is intended to support fast delivery for audiences in different locations.
Useful for creators and teams
VideoPress suits websites that publish lessons, films, demonstrations, interviews, presentations, or blog content. Keeping uploads and management within the WordPress environment can simplify the publishing workflow. The centralized dashboard also gives teams a shared place to work with the site’s video library, and unlimited logins mean access is not charged per seat.
Installation and setup
Install and activate Jetpack on the WordPress site, then use the Jetpack Complete plan with VideoPress included. Open the VideoPress tools, upload a local video to the cloud library, and add it to content with the Jetpack VideoPress Block. Configure the available player, privacy, poster image, subtitle, caption, or chapter options before publishing.
