Keep important elements visible while scrolling
WP Sticky PRO adds flexible sticky behavior to WordPress pages. When a visitor scrolls down and an element reaches the top of the page, you can keep that element in view. Although sticky navigation menus and headers are common uses, the plugin can work with any element identified by a unique name, class, or ID.
Use it to create a floating menu, sticky header, fixed widget, sticky sidebar, logo, call-to-action box, or banner ad. WP Sticky PRO also supports multiple sticky elements, with settings configured individually for each one.
Choose elements visually or with selectors
To define what should become sticky, select a unique element selector. Depending on the page structure, this may be a simple selector such as nav, #main-menu, or .menu-main-menu-1. More detailed selectors can also be used when necessary.
If you prefer not to work directly with selectors, WP Sticky PRO includes a visual element picker. This provides a practical way to identify the page element you want to keep visible.
Control placement and visibility
- Top spacing: Add any amount of space between the sticky element and the top of the page.
- Screen-size controls: Set minimum and maximum screen sizes where stickiness should work.
- Page targeting: Choose posts, pages, categories, tags, and custom post types where the element should not be sticky.
- Push-up element: Select another element lower on the page that can push the sticky element upward again.
- Admin Bar awareness: Account for the WordPress Admin Toolbar so the sticky element does not obscure it or sit behind it.
- Z-index: Adjust stacking order when another page element overlaps or appears through the sticky element.
Modes and troubleshooting
WP Sticky PRO includes Legacy Mode, which uses the older method of making elements sticky. Dynamic Mode is available with Legacy Mode to address issues that can occur with responsive themes. Debug Mode can help identify possible reasons an element does not stick by displaying error messages in the browser console.
These controls are useful when building responsive layouts, placing a menu beneath another header area, or managing pages where a fixed element would not be appropriate. You can combine page rules and screen-size limits to keep the behavior focused on the layouts and content areas that need it.
Practical workflow
- Install and activate WP Sticky PRO in WordPress.
- Choose the element to make sticky using the visual picker or a unique selector.
- Set top spacing, screen-size limits, and page exclusions as needed.
- Configure push-up behavior, Admin Bar handling, and Z-index settings.
- Use Debug Mode when the selected element does not behave as expected.
WP Sticky PRO is designed for sites that need persistent navigation, visible calls to action, accessible sidebar content, or other page elements that remain available during scrolling.
