Frontend account deletion for WordPress
WP Frontend Delete Account Pro gives users a frontend way to delete their own accounts. For WooCommerce sites, the plugin adds a Delete Account tab to the My Account page. For non-store websites, the delete account content can be placed where needed with the supplied shortcode or built-in Gutenberg block.
This approach makes the account deletion action available from the site interface rather than requiring users to access the WordPress administration area. It can be useful for membership websites, customer accounts, and other sites where users need a clear way to manage their personal account.
Core deletion workflow
The plugin supports account deletion from the WooCommerce My Account page and can reassign posts belonging to the deleted user. You can also use the option to delete the user’s comments. These controls help define what happens to associated content when an account is removed.
For non-store sites, add the deletion interface with the shortcode [wp_frontend_delete_account] or use the built-in Gutenberg block. This makes it possible to include the account action in a selected frontend location instead of relying on a WooCommerce account area.
Pro controls
The Pro edition adds configuration options for sites with more specific account-management requirements. You can customize the delete account endpoint, identified in the source as wpf-delete-account. You can also exclude user roles, which helps prevent selected roles from using the frontend deletion option.
An Elementor widget is included for sites that use Elementor to build frontend layouts. Together with the shortcode and Gutenberg block, this gives you several ways to position the deletion interface within the site design.
Privacy and account management
The plugin supports GDPR compliance for user data erasure. The source material presents this as a way to make personal-data deletion available to users and notes that the right to erasure should be considered carefully. Site owners should review their own requirements and consult legal counsel familiar with GDPR regulations where appropriate.
Before enabling the feature, decide which users should have access, whether comments should be deleted, and how posts should be handled after an account is removed. Role exclusions can be used when particular user groups should not see or use the deletion option.
Installation and setup
Install and activate the Pro plugin on the WordPress site. On a WooCommerce site, use the automatically created Delete Account tab in the My Account page. On a non-store site, place the feature with the [wp_frontend_delete_account] shortcode or Gutenberg block, or use the Elementor widget when building the page with Elementor.
Next, review the account-deletion behavior, including post reassignment and comment deletion, then configure the endpoint and excluded roles as needed. Test the frontend flow with an appropriate account before making it available to users.
