More Control for WordPress Comments
Comment Tools Pro is a collection of tools for managing and improving the comment section of a WordPress blog or website. It helps reduce the usefulness of promotional links in comments while adding features that encourage conversation, give readers more ways to respond, and simplify comment administration.
The link controls can remove the website field from the comment form, remove hyperlinks from comment authors, and stop URLs in comments from becoming clickable links. HTML link tags can also be removed from comments. URLs remain visible when hyperlinking is disabled, while links can alternatively be opened in a new tab.
Moderation and Comment Administration
Use the available controls to disable comments globally or hide existing comments. Bulk actions let you delete pending comments, delete all comments, or delete all spam comments with one click. The plugin can also display the post update date in a blog post.
These tools provide practical options for sites that want to reduce low-quality submissions without removing the entire comment area. Administrators can choose individual settings according to how their blog handles links, comments, and moderation.
Build a More Interactive Community
The paid edition adds several ways for readers to participate. Commenters can record a voice message or upload files, images, and videos. They can subscribe to newsletters, upvote or downvote comments, and receive email notifications and reminders. Username mentions, comment quotes, and collapsible comments are also supported.
These features can make longer discussions easier to follow while giving visitors more expressive ways to contribute. Sites can use the tools to support media-rich discussions, highlight useful comments through voting, and keep commenters informed about activity.
AI Replies and Comment Analysis
Comment Tools Pro includes an AI auto comment reply feature that uses ChatGPT AI. After adding an OpenAI API key in the comment tools settings, it can automatically reply to approved comments. You can choose whether it responds to top comments or child comments and control the length, imagination, and verbosity of the generated replies.
The plugin can also analyze comment sentiment and automatically discern a commentator’s emotion. This can support review and moderation workflows by adding sentiment information to the comment management process.
Contacts and Integrations
Commentator email addresses can be exported as a CSV file. The plugin also provides integration options with Zapier and MailChimp, giving site owners ways to work with commenter information beyond the WordPress comment area.
