WordPress code management in one editor
CodeKit Pro is a paid WordPress edition for adding, editing, and maintaining custom code without keeping every snippet in a separate external editor. It supports CSS, SCSS, SASS, JavaScript, PHP, and HTML, while its integrated IDE provides a workspace with syntax highlighting, autocomplete, Emmet abbreviations, tabs, spaces, line numbers, and multiple theme options.
The plugin is designed for both straightforward site changes and ongoing development work. You can keep code blocks separated and manageable, review output after compilation, and release changes through WordPress hooks and other available locations. Code can be saved without a page refresh using AJAX, with cache-proof code release each time you save.
AI-assisted coding tools
CodeKit Pro includes AI features for generating, fixing, and optimizing custom code. You can ask the integrated tools to write code, address syntax errors or bugs, or optimize code for better performance. The AI connection supports Google Gemini and OpenAI through your own API keys.
Supported code and release options
- CSS, SCSS, and SASS: add styles for specific pages, posts, devices, resolutions, and display types, including desktop, tablet, phone, and retina displays.
- JavaScript: place scripts for selected pages or posts, or release them in wp_head, after wp_body, or before wp_body.
- HTML: add markup to wp_head, after the wp_body tag, or before the wp_body tag.
- PHP: add custom PHP code directly to functions.php.
- Additional languages: the Pro edition adds support for languages such as LESS, Stylus, CoffeeScript, and PUG.
Advanced code release locations, code folding, custom code includes, custom code groups or categories, and editor code hints provide further control over how code is arranged and maintained.
Practical editor workflow
Create separate blocks for different tasks, switch the editor language when needed, and use the output function to inspect compiled code. CodeKit Pro also includes shortcuts such as finding code and commenting a line, adjustable font size and spacing, full-screen editing, toolbar access to codes, and optional save notifications. These tools support quick style adjustments, analytics or tag snippets, custom JavaScript, static HTML, PHP functions, and urgent code changes.
Installation
Install CodeKit in WordPress, activate it, and open the plugin interface. The supplied workflow indicates that you can use the Upgrade button to learn about the Pro edition and obtain its license. After installation, create a code block, choose its language, enter or generate code, select the relevant release location, and save it. The editor can display output from the Output button at the bottom-right of the IDE.
CodeKit Pro brings custom code editing, organization, AI assistance, and deployment controls into a single WordPress workflow.
