Advanced search for WooCommerce stores
YITH WooCommerce Ajax Search Premium is designed to help shoppers find products quickly through a modern search form with instant suggestions. It extends the standard search experience with broader matching, configurable result displays, promotional controls, and detailed search statistics.
The search form can be added using the built-in Gutenberg block or shortcode, so it can be placed where it fits your store layout. You can adjust the form size, placeholder text, colors, and Submit button styling. Instant search can be triggered after a chosen number of characters, helping users see relevant results while they type.
Broader and more relevant results
Premium search can include product SKUs, categories, tags, attributes, and custom fields. It can also search posts and pages, allowing the form to suggest related content alongside products. Synonym sets help connect different terms so users can receive relevant results even when their wording does not exactly match the product data.
You can also configure tolerance for typing errors, helping the search return useful results when a customer enters a word with a typo. Related category links can be shown for the search terms, giving shoppers another way to continue browsing.
Flexible result presentation
Choose between list and grid layouts for search results. Premium controls let you hide out-of-stock products and decide which product information appears, including price, SKU, stock, categories, the Add to cart button, and short description. Product descriptions can be limited to a maximum length to keep the result panel concise.
Badges can identify discounted, featured, or out-of-stock products, with customizable badge colors. A full-screen overlay layout is also available for a more focused search experience. The form remains suitable for mobile layouts, while the display options help you adapt the search interface to your shop’s design.
Guided discovery and search insights
Search suggestions can include popular searches or specific keywords. You can show each user’s recent search history and use advanced boost options to determine which products, categories, or tags receive priority in search results. These controls are useful when you want to highlight selected products or guide shoppers toward important store sections.
The statistics panel monitors popular searches, the products receiving the most clicks, and searches that produce no results. These insights can help identify missing products, improve wording, and understand how visitors use the store search.
Installation and setup
Install the plugin in your WordPress site, then add the search form with the Gutenberg block or shortcode. Configure appearance, instant-search behavior, searchable fields, result content, layouts, suggestions, and statistics from the plugin settings. Before relying on a particular theme integration, test the form in your store. Compatibility is generally expected with themes developed according to WordPress and WooCommerce guidelines, while YITH themes are continually updated and tested with YITH plugins.
