Professional proofreading inside WordPress
WProofreader Pro is a writing assistant for professional WordPress sites and teams. It scans website content for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and style issues, helping authors review text while they work in WordPress. The Pro version supports unlimited websites and has no daily word limits, making it suitable for organizations managing content across multiple sites.
The plugin provides spell and grammar checking in dozens of languages. It also includes AI-powered text rephrasing and proofreading, text autocomplete suggestions, spelling autocorrect for common typos, and style checking with predefined non-inclusive and profanity language checks. These tools support content teams that need to draft, revise, and polish text within their regular WordPress workflow.
Two ways to review content
Check as you type
The check-as-you-type mode detects writing mistakes instantaneously and provides suggestions on hover. Writers can review proposed corrections while composing or editing content, without waiting for a separate review process.
Proofread in a dialog
The proofread-in-dialog mode gathers detected issues and the available suggestions in one place. This provides a focused way to review a complete piece of content and work through its spelling, grammar, punctuation, and style findings.
Personal and organization dictionaries
WProofreader Pro includes a user-level custom dictionary for words and terms such as complex words, acronyms, and proper names. Once a word is added, it is not treated as a misspelling and can appear in the suggestions list. Personal dictionary words are stored in browser local storage or in the cloud, depending on the available setup, and can be accessible from the browser.
Subscription owners can also create organization-level custom dictionaries. These dictionaries extend the standard vocabulary with terminology connected to an organization’s culture, industry, or domain. Words added by an administrator are available to users within the organization and across connected sites, helping teams maintain consistent terminology. A style guide builder is also available for creating language rules.
Language-specific writing support
The plugin supports more than 20 languages in its broader language functionality and offers spelling and grammar checking in dozens of languages under Pro. Specialized medical spelling dictionaries are available for English, German, French, and Spanish. A legal spelling dictionary is available for English.
