Automate social publishing through Buffer
WordPress to Buffer Pro connects WordPress content with Buffer so posts, pages, and custom post types can be shared with connected social networks when content is published or updated. Buffer manages the queue and scheduling, helping you organize social publishing from one service rather than posting each update manually.
The Pro edition extends the publishing workflow with additional networks, account connections, scheduling choices, conditional rules, reusable templates, reposting, bulk publishing, and integrations for events, WooCommerce, and SEO plugins.
Publish to more networks
In addition to the supported Facebook Pages, X/Twitter, LinkedIn Pages and profiles, Threads, Google Business Profile, Mastodon, Bluesky, and TikTok connections, the Pro edition adds direct posting to Instagram Business Profiles and Pinterest Boards. Instagram support includes Feed and Stories.
You can connect multiple Buffer accounts to one WordPress site. This can be useful when different websites, brands, teams, or publishing workflows need separate Buffer connections while remaining managed from the same WordPress installation.
Use advanced scheduling options
Pro provides several ways to control when content is sent through Buffer. You can publish immediately, add an item to the start or end of the Buffer queue, or schedule it for a specific time. Buffer’s queue spaces posts according to its schedule, while the plugin includes duplicate prevention to help avoid publishing the same content twice.
Evergreen content can be reshared automatically at scheduled intervals with the repost old posts feature. For one-time campaigns or selected updates, the bulk publish feature lets you manually choose multiple posts and republish them to social media.
Customize messages for each network
Use dynamic template tags to build social messages from WordPress content. Available tags can pull the title, excerpt, content, permalink, publication date, tags, and categories. Excerpts and content can use character or word limits, while tags and categories can be used as hashtags.
Multiple status templates allow different messages for each social network and separate templates by post type. Conditional publishing can send content according to author, category, tags, or custom field values, giving you more control over which updates reach which destinations.
Connect site content with other tools
- Event calendars: Schedule social posts using event dates from The Events Calendar, Event Manager, and Modern Events Calendar.
- WooCommerce: Include product prices, SKUs, and other WooCommerce data in social media posts.
- SEO plugins: Use SEO titles, descriptions, and metadata from Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All-In-One SEO Pack, and SEOPress.
Installation and workflow
Install the Pro plugin in WordPress, authorize your Buffer account through the available connection process, and link the social profiles managed by Buffer. Configure the post types to share, choose templates and publishing conditions, then select the scheduling behavior for new or updated content.
After configuration, publish or update WordPress content and let the selected rules send it to Buffer. Review queue placement, templates, and conditions as your publishing needs change. For campaigns, use bulk publishing or schedule event-based posts through the supported calendar integrations.
