Build a multilingual WordPress site visually
TranslatePress Premium extends TranslatePress with paid tools for translating WordPress websites directly from the front end. The visual interface displays translations in real time, allowing you to work through pages while seeing how the translated content appears. It can handle page content and output from shortcodes, forms, page builders, Gutenberg blocks, themes, plugins, and WooCommerce.
Manual and automatic translation can be used together. Translate content yourself in the visual editor, use automatic translation to create an initial version, and refine the result visually. Premium editions include full TranslatePress AI access with a set number of AI-translated words for each version. Google Translate integration is also available through your own Google API key, with automatic translation enabled or disabled according to your preferences.
Premium tools for larger multilingual projects
- Extra Languages: add an unlimited number of translation languages and publish languages after their translations are complete.
- SEO Pack: translate page titles, descriptions, URL slugs, image alt tags, and Twitter and Facebook Social Graph tags. The feature works with popular SEO plugins.
- Different Domain per Language: assign a different domain to each added language for a more localized visitor experience.
- Translator Accounts: allow existing users or created accounts to translate the site without administrator rights.
- Browse as User Role: view and translate content that is visible to a particular user role.
- Navigation Based on Language: configure and display different menu items for different languages.
The plugin also supports image translation for images, sliders, and other media. You can translate dynamic gettext strings from WordPress, themes, and plugins, merge strings into translation blocks, and use conditional display shortcodes for language-specific content. Translation Blocks make it possible to translate multiple HTML elements together.
Practical multilingual workflows
Use TranslatePress Premium for a bilingual site, a broader multilingual publication, or a WooCommerce store serving visitors in several languages. Language switchers can be displayed as menu items, floating dropdowns, a Language Switcher block, or a shortcode. You can choose whether language names appear in their native form or in English, force custom links to open in the current language, and enable or disable a URL subdirectory for the default language.
Editorial control lets you publish a language when its translations are complete. You can also translate selected paths, exclude content from translation, and edit gettext strings from themes and plugins without adding another language.
Installation and setup
Add TranslatePress Premium to your WordPress site, configure the default language and translation languages, then choose the premium tools needed for your workflow. Set up the language switcher, translation method, and optional URL settings before reviewing pages through the front-end editor.
