Automatic scans use the same browser-based scanner as manual scans, respect the configured scan scope, and record scan history through WP-Cron. Scan history can show newly detected or removed cookies, recategorized cookies, newly detected third-party domains, whether a scan was manual or automatic, the last scan date, and the cookie count.
Scanning, blocking, and visitor choices
SureCookie scans selected pages in a real browser environment rather than reading only static HTML. This can help identify cookies and resources that appear after page load or through tag managers and third-party scripts. Detected items may include analytics, marketing, advertising, functional, preference, WooCommerce, and WordPress session cookies, as well as third-party domains and dynamically injected resources.
The consent banner and preference modal can be customized with a message, rich text, button labels and order, position, width, logo, animation, overlay, category labels, descriptions, and custom CSS. Visitors can accept all cookies, decline non-essential cookies, or choose specific categories. Script blocking can cover non-essential scripts and embedded content such as iframes, embeds, and objects before the relevant consent is given.
Administration and policy support
Settings, cookie categories, custom cookies, scan history, scanner credentials, consent logs, and related configuration are stored in the WordPress database. Consent logs and scan results can be viewed, exported, or deleted from the WordPress admin. SureCookie also supports cookie policy and privacy policy workflows, including a privacy policy draft whose cookie and consent sections stay connected to the configured settings.
The plugin supports WPML and Polylang for banner and admin text, RTL frontend cookie policy content, and selected WordPress management integrations when supported. It does not charge by traffic or monthly visitors according to the supplied product information.
Installation and setup
Install and activate SureCookie in WordPress, configure the banner and preference modal, define cookie categories, and select the pages to scan. Enable script blocking, review detected resources, configure consent logging, and then set the Pro options for automatic scans, email digests, geographic targeting, compliance workflows, or consent forwarding as needed.
SureCookie provides technical tools for scanning, blocking, consent collection, logging, and policy management. Legal requirements depend on the website, visitors, region, policies, data practices, and applicable obligations, so the plugin itself does not guarantee legal compliance.
