Advanced caching for WordPress
Super Page Cache PRO is a paid edition of Super Page Cache, a WordPress performance plugin for caching HTML pages and static files. It combines server disk caching with optional Cloudflare CDN delivery, helping websites serve cached content from the local server or from Cloudflare edge locations. The plugin works with or without Cloudflare, and Cloudflare can be connected using an API key or token.
The PRO edition adds advanced performance controls to the plugin’s full page, disk, browser, and CDN caching features. It is designed for site owners who want more control over how JavaScript, lazy loading, cache exclusions, and tracking parameters are handled.
PRO performance controls
- Ignore marketing parameters: improve cache hit rates by handling UTM, affiliate, and tracking codes more effectively.
- Defer JavaScript: help eliminate render-blocking JavaScript.
- Delay JavaScript: load JavaScript only when visitors interact with the page.
- Advanced lazy loading: use viewport detection and above-the-fold optimization for supported content.
- Advanced exclusions: exclude specific JavaScript files or pages from caching when a page or script requires different treatment.
- Priority support: receive faster email response times.
Core caching workflow
Super Page Cache can save HTML pages and static files directly on the server through disk caching. This allows the site to use server-level caching even without a CDN. When Cloudflare is connected, the plugin can also use Cloudflare’s global edge network and modern Cache Rules. The source describes support for Free, Pro, and Enterprise Cloudflare plans, with auto-purging, cron jobs, and integrated metrics.
Cache controls include custom expiration periods or never-expire settings, exclusions for cookies, query parameters, URIs, AMP, feeds, and the REST API, plus response-header management. Logged-in users can bypass cached pages through the cache buster. The plugin also supports automatic cache purging when content changes, related-page purging, HTML-only or full cache clearing, and queue-based background processing to help prevent server overload.
Site speed tools
Alongside caching, the plugin includes browser caching, lazy loading for images, videos, iframes, and background images, local Google Fonts, unused CSS and JavaScript removal, and an assets manager for enabling or disabling CSS and JavaScript on individual pages. A preloader can use sitemaps, menus, or recent posts, with manual or cron-based operation.
Compatibility described in the source includes WooCommerce, Easy Digital Downloads, Varnish, OPcache, Kinsta, WP Engine, SpinupWP, and Instant.page prefetching. Disable page caching in other caching plugins such as WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache, or W3 Total Cache. The plugin can be used alongside Optimole, Autoptimize, Perfmatters, and ShortPixel for asset optimization.
Installation
Install Super Page Cache PRO on the WordPress site, activate it, and open the plugin dashboard. The dashboard includes settings and built-in documentation. Most users can begin with the defaults, while Cloudflare users can connect an account by entering an API key or token. Review exclusions and JavaScript controls before enabling advanced behavior on a production site.
