Social sharing designed around your content
Social Warfare Pro is a paid edition of the Social Sharing Plugin – Social Warfare for WordPress. It helps publishers place attractive social sharing buttons around their content and control how posts appear when readers share them. The plugin supports sharing networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and Mix, while the Pro edition adds Reddit, Tumblr, Yummly, WhatsApp, Pocket, Buffer, Hacker News, Flipboard, and Email.
Buttons can appear above the post, below it, both above and below, or through manual placement. You can also use floating buttons that follow readers while static buttons are outside the visible area. This gives you a practical way to keep sharing controls available without placing them in only one fixed location.
Pro controls for shared content
The Pro edition gives you more control over the information sent to social networks. You can define the image, title, and description used for services such as Facebook and LinkedIn that use Open Graph data. Pinterest sharing can use a dedicated image and custom description, while Twitter shares can use a custom tweet. Social Warfare automatically adds the content link and your @username to the Twitter share box.
For Pinterest-focused sites, the Image Hover Pin Button places a Pin button over images when a reader moves the mouse over them. This makes individual images available for sharing instead of relying only on the primary post-sharing controls.
Design, counts, and recovery
Sharing buttons can be tailored to your site with six button shapes, eight color themes, and custom button colors. The plugin also includes six Click to Tweet styles, with the option to create a custom style through your theme’s CSS. Share counts can be displayed, hidden, or shown only after a chosen minimum number of shares has been reached.
Share Recovery is intended for situations where social share counts were lost after changing permalink structures, domain prefixes, connection protocols, or domains. Pro users can also reactivate, track, and display Twitter tweet counts.
Additional publishing tools
The Popular Posts widget uses social share counts to identify popular content. You can base the display on overall shares or a particular social network, then customize thumbnails, image and text sizes, visual themes, and date ranges.
Click to Tweet quotes let you add tweetable statements inside posts or pages. Shortcodes provide manual button placement, including the ability to make buttons on one page share a different URL. Users experienced with PHP can also connect Social Warfare to theme templates for further customization. Its Frame Buster is included to help protect content from hijackers placing advertisements over it without permission.
Installation and setup
Install Social Warfare Pro in your WordPress site, then configure the networks, button design, placements, share-count behavior, and sharing details you want to use. Add Click to Tweet elements and manual placements where needed, or use the available shortcode in posts and pages. Review the resulting buttons and shared-content settings before publishing.
