Smart Team Pro is a WordPress team showcase plugin for creating and managing staff, team member, and member profile displays. It can also be used wherever an image and text need to be presented together, making it suitable for business teams, agencies, schools, medical practices, nonprofits, events, communities, and other organizations.
The plugin provides an interface for adding members without coding. Create unlimited teams and members, then organize how they appear on your site through generated team displays. Member information can include a name, position or job title, photo, short biography, and social links such as Facebook or Twitter. Each available field can be shown, hidden, and customized.
Choose a layout for your content
Smart Team supports carousel, grid, and list layouts. The Pro edition adds extra layouts, styling controls, and customization options for building team sections with more flexibility. You can also place multiple team shortcodes on a single page and control the number of members displayed.
- Use a carousel for a horizontally browsable team presentation.
- Use a grid to arrange several members in columns.
- Use a list for a straightforward staff or member directory.
Responsive controls let you manage columns across different devices. Other display settings include member ordering, order-by options, random member order, and spacing between members.
Customize member presentation
Control the visual treatment of each member section through the settings panel. Options include member borders, radius, background color, image size, image borders, image backgrounds, and an image zoom in or out effect. Social icons can be adjusted by position, margin, and shape. You can also enable or disable detail page links and control the fields shown on detail pages.
The plugin includes carousel slider options, unlimited color and styling controls, and custom CSS options. It is translation and RTL ready, supports multisite, and is described as compatible with any theme.
Generate and publish a team display
After adding members, go to Team Generator > Add New. Use the generator settings tabs to configure the layout, fields, styling, ordering, and display options. Publish the generated team configuration to receive a shortcode.
Add the shortcode to a WordPress page or post. Smart Team also supports publishing through the widget control panel or a PHP function, giving you several ways to place a team showcase within your site.
Useful applications
Introduce company leadership, show departments, present agency collaborators, list teachers or faculty, highlight doctors and professionals, display volunteers or board members, feature speakers and mentors, or present members of an online community. The image-and-text format can be adapted to many types of people-focused content.
Installation and setup
Install and activate the plugin through WordPress. Open Smart Team in the admin dashboard, select Add New Member, and enter the details for each person. Then create a team generator configuration, customize its settings, publish it, and place the resulting shortcode where the showcase should appear.
