Control what happens after a successful submission
Redirection for Contact Forms Pro is a paid add-on for Contact Form 7 that provides an alternative to the deprecated on_sent_ok and on_submit settings. It lets you define what should happen after a form has been submitted successfully and the mail has been sent, using DOM events rather than those additional settings.
The add-on is intended for forms that need to send visitors to a selected destination, open a follow-up page, trigger JavaScript, or pass submitted information into a URL. These options can support conversion management and other post-submission workflows while preserving the form’s normal behavior.
Pro redirection features
- Redirect visitors to any URL after a successful form submission.
- Open the selected page in a new browser tab.
- Run JavaScript after submission, including scripts used for conversion management.
- Pass fields from the submitted form as URL query parameters.
These controls allow you to shape the visitor journey after Contact Form 7 completes its mail-sending process. For example, a form can send a visitor to a thank-you page, open a separate destination, or provide submitted field values as parameters for the next page to use.
Works with normal form behavior
Redirection for Contact Forms Pro does not disable Contact Form 7’s AJAX behavior. The form can continue using its normal submission behavior while the add-on handles the redirect or other selected action. This makes it suitable for sites that need a post-submission destination without replacing the standard form process.
The add-on also avoids relying on the deprecated on_sent_ok setting. Instead, it uses DOM events to perform the selected action after a successful submission. This provides a current alternative for forms that previously depended on JavaScript entered through Contact Form 7’s additional settings.
Practical uses
Use the Pro features for contact forms, enquiry forms, registration requests, or other Contact Form 7 workflows where the next step matters. A redirect can guide visitors to relevant information, while a new-tab option can preserve the original page. JavaScript actions can support conversion tracking, and query parameters can carry form values to the destination URL.
Installation and setup
Install and activate the add-on alongside Contact Form 7. In the settings for the relevant form, open the Redirect Settings tab and choose the page or URL to use after mail is sent successfully. Configure whether the page opens in a new tab, add any JavaScript action, and select the form fields that should be passed as URL query parameters. Save the form settings and test a submission to confirm the selected workflow.
