Bring TikTok feeds into WordPress
QuadLayers TikTok Feed Premium is a WordPress plugin for displaying TikTok content on a site. It can connect feeds from TikTok account IDs and tags, helping site owners present video content within their own pages rather than directing visitors away from the site.
The Premium edition adds hashtag and trending feed functionality that is not available in the free version. It also adds masonry and highlight display alternatives alongside the gallery and carousel layouts available in the free version. This gives site owners more ways to organize video content for different page designs.
Feed display and presentation
Feed appearance can be adjusted through options for display boxes, images, backgrounds, masks, and buttons. Layout and positioning controls help adapt the feed to the surrounding page, while responsive and mobile-optimized behavior supports viewing across device sizes.
Visitors can open videos in a customizable pop-up media lightbox. This allows the content to be viewed in an overlay on the site. The plugin can also recover video data from a feed, including likes and comments, so related information can be presented with the retrieved content.
Synchronization, caching, and API access
The plugin is designed to keep site content updated by obtaining new feeds from TikTok. It caches videos and related data, and its API use is optimized to minimize requests and reduce loading time. These functions provide a workflow for retrieving and displaying feed content without repeatedly requesting the same data.
Since version 2.0, TikTok API account validation is handled in an Accounts tab. An access token is required to obtain TikTok feed videos, and the setup follows the API permissions request process. Hashtag and trending feeds use the Premium functionality described for the plugin.
Practical uses
- Account feeds: Display videos from selected TikTok account IDs on WordPress pages.
- Hashtag content: Use Premium hashtag feeds to organize content around a tag.
- Trending content: Add Premium trending feeds when a broader content stream is needed.
- Visual galleries: Choose gallery, carousel, masonry, or highlight presentation options.
- On-site viewing: Let visitors view feed videos in a customizable lightbox.
- Page integration: Insert a configured feed with a shortcode on a page or post.
Installation and setup
Install the plugin in WordPress, open its administration settings, and use the one-click setup process. In the Accounts tab, complete TikTok API account validation and obtain the required access token through the API permissions process. Then create a new feed, select the TikTok account ID, hashtag, or other available feed type, customize its layout and appearance, and save it. Copy the generated shortcode into the desired page or post. The feed should be completed and saved before the shortcode is added.
