Organize long WordPress content
Pagination Pro is a WordPress plugin for adding customizable navigation to content that spans multiple pages or loads in sections. It can automatically add pagination to WooCommerce Shop pages as well as the content areas supported by the free feature set, including the home page, blog, archives, search results, paginated posts and pages, and comments.
The plugin is useful for sites with growing article libraries, product catalogs, portfolios, galleries, or discussion areas. By choosing how visitors move through content, you can present a traditional page sequence or create a more continuous browsing experience without manually editing every page template.
Flexible navigation styles
Pagination Pro supports numeric pagination, a “Load More” button, infinite scroll, and a Next/Previous-only format. You can also place a “Load More” control after the initial content has loaded. Numeric layouts include full numbering, such as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and short numbering, such as 1, 2 … 5, 6.
Pagination can be positioned above content, below content, or in both locations. It can also be inserted manually through a function for comments, a PHP template, or a theme or plugin PHP file. This gives developers and site administrators several ways to fit navigation into an existing layout.
Appearance and behavior controls
Use the settings to customize the width and alignment of the pagination block, including left, center, and right alignment, with custom margins. The available style controls include hover color, background color, current-page background color, text color, current-page text color, border color, border width, and border radius.
Several ready-made templates are available, and custom HTML or CSS can be added through the plugin settings. You can customize Next and Previous arrows, enable a scroll-to-top behavior, display a “Page X of Y” indicator, and use the Scroll Progress Bar option. Divi theme compatibility is also included in the Pro feature list.
Control where pagination appears
Pagination Pro includes controls for hiding pagination in selected contexts. You can hide it for default themes, paginated posts or pages, comments, or custom templates. If a theme adds its own navigation, the Hide Pagination section can be used to override or disable that built-in pagination. A custom CSS class or ID can also be entered to exclude a specific element.
Practical workflow
- Choose the content types that should receive automatic pagination.
- Select numeric navigation, Load More, infinite scroll, or Next/Previous controls.
- Set the position, alignment, dimensions, colors, borders, and template.
- Hide conflicting theme pagination where necessary.
- Use manual function placement when a template or custom integration requires it.
