MailChimp connection and privacy
A MailChimp account and at least one MailChimp list are required. The integration is configured from the WordPress dashboard under Optin Cat, where you can add a new form or select an existing one and connect it to your MailChimp account.
The plugin stores personal data such as names and email addresses collected through forms in the WordPress database. It integrates with WordPress privacy controls for data export and deletion. A browser cookie is used to track successful optins, and connecting to a third-party service such as MailChimp may involve sharing personal data with that service.
Installation and publishing
Install the plugin on a self-hosted WordPress.org site and make sure a MailChimp account and list are available. In the WordPress dashboard, go to Optin Cat, choose Add New, and select the form type or layout you want to use.
Configure the design, connect the form to MailChimp, and set a Thank You page. For popups, use the Publication section to deploy the form. Targeting options can include display frequency, time on page, selected posts, pages or categories, and visitor scrolling. Premium targeting also includes pageviews during the current visit, while Business and Elite include exit intervention.
