Make WordPress menus more visual
Menu Image Premium helps you create clearer, more expressive WordPress navigation by adding images or icons to menu items. You can use visual elements to support navigation labels, highlight important links, or give a menu a more distinctive appearance without changing the basic menu structure.
The plugin lets you control the position and size of an image or icon for each menu item. Place the visual element on the left or right of the menu title, or display it above or below the title. You can also hide the title and show only the image or icon when a compact visual menu item is more suitable.
Use familiar icon libraries
Menu Image Premium supports FontAwesome Icons and DashIcons Icons. This gives you additional ways to represent menu destinations using icons rather than relying only on uploaded images. You can combine these options with the available positioning and sizing controls to build a consistent navigation experience.
For interactive menus, the plugin can switch images or icons when a visitor moves the mouse over a menu item. This hover behavior can help distinguish the active interaction state and make visual navigation easier to understand.
Premium menu enhancements
- Call-to-action buttons: Convert menu items into call-to-action buttons to give selected links greater visual emphasis.
- Count bubbles: Add count bubbles to menu items using a cart total, category total, or custom function.
- Notification badges: Add badges with messages such as New, Sale, or Hiring.
- Color customization: Customize the colors of buttons, badges, and bubbles.
- Mobile control: Disable Menu Image on mobile devices when visual menu elements are not wanted on smaller screens.
Practical ways to use it
Use images or icons to reinforce key areas of a site, such as products, services, categories, or account links. A call-to-action button can draw attention to a selected menu item, while a count bubble can communicate changing totals such as a cart or category count. Notification badges can mark timely destinations, including new content, sales, or hiring information.
For a compact design, show only an image or icon. For a more descriptive navigation bar, place the visual element beside the menu title. The ability to use different positions, sizes, colors, and hover states allows you to adjust the presentation to the role of each menu item.
