Build richer WordPress navigation
Max Mega Menu Pro extends the WordPress menu system with advanced layouts, mobile behaviour, styling controls, and menu content options. It is designed for block editor sites, page builders, and classic themes, allowing you to create new menus or enhance existing navigation.
With the Pro edition, menus can support more specialised navigation patterns, including sliding panels, tabbed mega menus, sticky menus, and vertical or accordion layouts. These options are useful for sites with large collections of pages, products, categories, resources, or other destinations that need clearer organisation.
Advanced menu formats
- Sliding panels: Add panel-based navigation for an alternative menu experience.
- Tabbed mega menus: Organise larger groups of submenu content into tabbed sections.
- Sticky menus: Keep navigation available as visitors move through a page.
- Vertical and accordion menus: Use layouts suited to sidebars, compact areas, or expandable navigation.
The plugin also supports traditional flyout and mega menu submenu styles. Submenus can open on hover, hover intent, or click, with transition choices including fade, fade up, slide up, and slide. Items can include icons, and the built-in theme editor provides controls for menu styling.
Mobile and responsive navigation
Max Mega Menu Pro supports mobile-focused navigation through off-canvas menus and extended mobile toggle blocks. An off-canvas menu can slide in from the left or right, while responsive settings help determine how the menu changes at a chosen breakpoint.
For items with submenus, the mobile experience can be configured around first and second taps, with options to open or close a submenu or follow the item link. Submenus can also be hidden on mobile. These controls help adapt the same WordPress navigation to touch-based browsing and smaller screens.
Branding, search, and integrations
Pro features include custom item styling, Font Awesome and custom icons, a menu logo, and a search box. The plugin also provides WooCommerce and Easy Digital Downloads support, making it suitable for navigation on ecommerce and digital-product websites.
Menus can be placed through a block, widget, shortcode, or automatic integration. Native modules are available for Bricks, Breakdance, Divi, and Elementor. The plugin supports multiple menu locations, each with its own configuration, and includes role and restriction controls for managing menu availability.
Accessibility and administration
Keyboard navigation is built in. The TAB key activates navigation and moves through the menu on desktop and mobile, while ENTER or SPACE on a submenu arrow shows or hides the submenu. ESC closes open submenus. Pro also includes automatic updates, extended mobile toggle blocks, and priority support.
