Cookie consent controls for WordPress
Lightweight Cookie Notice Professional extends the customizable cookie notice provided by Lightweight Cookie Notice. It is designed for websites that need a lightweight consent interface together with more detailed consent management, visitor controls, and preference-based actions.
The notice is generated with a single 9kb gzipped file written in pure JavaScript. The plugin is intended for high-performance websites and websites with a high number of visits. It verifies cookie acceptance with JavaScript and supports caching plugins including WP Super Cache, W3 Total Cache, LiteSpeed Cache, and WP Fastest Cache.
Professional consent features
- Download consent log data in CSV format.
- Download proof of consent for each consent log record in PDF format.
- Run JavaScript scripts instantly according to the user’s cookie preferences.
- Share user consent preferences across subdomains.
- Configure Google Consent Mode.
- Move plugin data between websites with import and export features.
- Define which user capabilities are required to access each plugin menu.
These features support workflows where consent records need to be reviewed, exported, or connected to actions that depend on a visitor’s selected preferences.
Visitor-facing preference tools
Professional adds editor blocks that can make consent information and controls available within your content. The Cookies editor block displays one or more cookie audit tables in posts. The Delete Cookies editor block allows visitors to reset their cookie preferences, while the Revisit Consent editor block allows them to change those preferences.
The notice can also include an optional modal window for displaying a cookies policy, privacy policy, or other custom information without redirecting visitors to a separate page. Custom HTML can be entered in the modal, including lists of cookies, lists of vendors, links to documents, and other information.
Appearance, placement, and targeting
The plugin includes 83 style options for adjusting typography, element colors, borders, drop shadows, opacities, and other visual details. The notice can appear at the top, middle, or bottom of the screen. It is responsive, with a breakpoint option for switching between desktop and mobile layouts.
Geolocation can display the notice only to users in a custom-defined list of countries. The plugin integrates the MaxMind GeoLite2 and HostIP.info services. MaxMind GeoLite2 requires a MaxMind account, downloaded databases, and configured file paths. HostIP.info retrieves IP geolocation data through HTTP requests and does not require an account.
Additional behavior includes an optional shake effect when a visitor clicks outside the notice, a transparent mask that can make the page unusable until consent is given, custom cookie expiration, page reload after acceptance, and a test mode that displays the notice only to the website administrator while content, colors, and behavior are configured.
Installation and setup
Install the Professional version in WordPress, open its plugin settings, and configure the notice content, appearance, position, behavior, and cookie expiration. Set up geolocation if country-based display is required, or configure the consent log and Google Consent Mode options for your workflow. Add the available editor blocks to posts where visitors should review or manage cookie information.
