Memberships and content access in WordPress
Kadence Memberships Pro combines membership management with content restriction tools. Use it to create membership or subscription websites, sell access to content, or simply hide selected pages and posts from specific users.
Access can be controlled by WordPress user role, access level, membership level, membership plan, and status. You can restrict full pages, posts, archives, custom post types, media, WordPress blocks, WooCommerce products, and even API requests. This makes the plugin suitable for subscription content, private resources, member-only sections, and sites with multiple access packages.
Plans, payments, and member accounts
Create unlimited membership levels or subscription packages. A membership can be free, trial-based, or premium, with settings for price, duration, signup fee, renewal count, status, frequency, period, and the WordPress role assigned to members.
Kadence Memberships includes auto-created pages for registration, successful registration, account management, profile editing, and billing-card updates. Members can view their account status, renewal or expiration date, and payment history, including PDF invoices for individual payments. They can also update their name, email address, and password through the included profile editor.
Members can upgrade or downgrade between levels, with changes prorated according to the amount already paid and the time remaining in the current membership. Auto-renewal can be set to always renew, never renew, or allow the customer to decide.
Payment and Pro features
- Stripe and manual payments are available, with PayPal, Authorize.net, Braintree, and custom gateways listed as Pro payment options.
- Create percentage or flat-rate discount codes with names, descriptions, unique codes, usage limits, and optional expiration dates.
- Offer free trials and send emails when a trial is approaching its end.
- Customize member emails, including activation and cancellation messages.
- Use detailed reports to review total earnings for a selected period or examine specific membership levels.
- Protect member login forms with Google reCAPTCHA.
- Use the included collection of 34 Pro add-ons for additional integrations and functionality.
Restriction and administration workflow
Set access rules from the editing screens for posts, pages, and custom post types. You can restrict an entire page or specific sections, customize the message displayed to users without permission, and allow users to register and log in from the front end.
Administrators can search membership records, view active, expired, cancelled, and pending memberships, add memberships manually, modify records in bulk, and edit individual memberships when needed. Records can also be exported to CSV for use with another service or application.
Installation and extension
Install and activate Kadence Memberships Pro on your WordPress site, then create membership levels, configure payment options, and set the content rules for each plan. Review the generated member pages and adjust the available account and registration workflow for your site.
The plugin is designed to be extended with action hooks and filters. Its display options and template files can be modified, while its templates are designed to integrate with themes without requiring custom CSS.
