Watermark WordPress images with flexible controls
Easy Watermark Pro is a paid edition of Easy Watermark for applying image watermarks, text watermarks, or both to images in the WordPress media library. Watermarks can be added automatically as images are uploaded, or applied manually to existing images one at a time or in bulk.
The PRO edition provides access to more fonts for text watermarks. It also supports the watermark controls available in Easy Watermark, including positioning, sizing, opacity, rotation, placeholders, image scaling, backups, and restoration.
Apply image and text watermarks
You can place two watermarks on one image: one image watermark and one text watermark. Use either type independently or combine them when an image needs both visual branding and contextual information.
- Use JPG, PNG, or GIF files as image watermarks.
- Retain transparency and alpha channel support for PNG and GIF files.
- Set opacity for JPG and GIF watermarks and for text watermarks from 0 to 100%.
- Choose text color, size, angle, and position.
- Place image or text watermarks in one of nine positions.
- Define horizontal and vertical offsets for more precise placement.
Work with WordPress image sizes
Easy Watermark can process built-in WordPress image sizes, including thumbnail, medium, large, and fullsize images. It can also watermark additional sizes registered by themes or plugins, helping you apply the same approach across the image versions used throughout a site.
Image watermark settings include five scaling modes: None, Cover, Contain, Fit to Width, and Fit to Height. You can also enable Scale down only so scaling is performed only when the source image is smaller than the watermark. The watermark ratio is preserved, and Fit to Width or Fit to Height can use percentage-based dimensions.
Create dynamic text watermarks
Text watermarks use TTF fonts and can include placeholders. These placeholders allow the watermark text to be generated dynamically, such as showing the name of the user who uploaded an image or the upload date. Pro adds more font options to the available text watermark workflow.
Protect originals and restore images
The plugin can create backups of images before watermarking. If you need to remove a watermark, restore the original image from the attachment edit page using the Easy Watermark meta box, or use Media page bulk actions. Only the fullsize image is stored in the backup; thumbnails are regenerated during restoration.
Backups use additional server space because images are stored twice. If the plugin has been uninstalled, it does not restore images automatically. The source describes reinstalling the plugin to restore images before removal, or manually accessing the backup files in the WordPress directory.
Installation and workflow
Install Easy Watermark Pro as a WordPress plugin, then configure image and text watermark settings. Choose the watermark type, position, size, opacity, scaling, and text options before applying it automatically to uploads or manually to existing media. The plugin requires the GD library.
