Manage QR destinations without replacing printed codes
Dynamic QR Code Pro is designed for QR codes whose associated information is managed by the plugin rather than embedded directly in the image. The code contains a redirection URL, while the destination information is stored on the WordPress website. You can therefore update the linked information without changing the QR code image.
This approach is useful when a destination changes after QR codes have already been printed or distributed. A pharmacy webpage can be changed as the pharmacy on duty changes. A promotional code can continue pointing to the current promotion page, and a restaurant can use one code that redirects to the appropriate menu according to the day of the week.
Track scans and review activity
Scans are logged and made available for statistical analysis. PRO add-ons provide basic statistics grouped by date, day, device type, country, and more. The recorded activity can help you examine how a QR code is being used after it has been placed on products, printed materials, promotional items, or other customer-facing locations.
The plugin also supports downloading scan data for statistical analysis. If you enable the My FastAPP options under Settings, User Key values can be used to differentiate user activity. The source also describes a My FastAPP workflow for tracking scans from individual users.
Redirect options for practical campaigns
Dynamic QR Code supports redirects that vary by date or day of the week. It can also provide a webpage accessible only by scanning a QR code and can limit the number of scans. These options support campaigns where timing, access method, or scan volume matters.
The PRO feature set includes QR codes that open Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn profiles directly in the corresponding app. This provides a direct route from a printed or displayed code to a social profile.
Dynamic and static QR codes
A static QR code stores its information directly in the code, so changing an outdated destination normally requires rebuilding and reprinting the image. A dynamic QR code stores the destination online, allowing the information to be updated while the same image remains in use. If a dynamic destination becomes invalid, updating the information stored online can bring the code back to use.
The plugin generates QR code images, but you can also use an image made with another tool when it encodes the correct QR URL. The number of dynamic QR codes is described as unlimited, subject to what the WordPress site can handle.
Installation and setup
Install Dynamic QR Code Pro on a WordPress site, create a dynamic QR code, and set its destination information. Generate or use an image containing the correct QR URL, then place it on the intended product, promotion, menu, or printed material. Review scan activity and update the destination whenever the linked information changes.
For date, day, scan-limit, social-profile, and statistical requirements, configure the relevant PRO options for each QR code and campaign.
