Display documents directly on your WordPress site
Document Embedder Pro is designed for presenting files inside WordPress posts and pages, so visitors can read supported documents without leaving your site. It works with PDFs, Word documents, spreadsheets, presentations, images, code files, and other listed formats. Files can be uploaded locally, selected from the WordPress Media Library, or supplied through a URL, including files hosted on services such as Google Drive and Dropbox.
The plugin supports Gutenberg blocks and shortcodes, making it practical for standard WordPress editing as well as page builder workflows. Its viewer can be configured for different layouts, with responsive width and height controls for desktop, tablet, and mobile displays.
Pro tools for controlled document access
Use the Email Gate to require a visitor’s name and email address before they download a file. Submissions are recorded in the built-in Leads Dashboard, where they can be searched, filtered, and exported as a CSV file. This workflow is useful for reports, guides, presentations, worksheets, and other downloadable resources intended to collect contact details.
Pro also adds view and download restrictions. A document can be shown only to logged-in users or to selected user roles, with a custom message for visitors who do not meet the requirements. Download access can be limited in the same way. For local PDFs, secure delivery uses a signed, expiring, IP-bound link rather than exposing the file URL in the page.
Interactive presentation features
Enhance PDF pages with interactive overlays. Add notes, highlights, links, and call-to-action buttons using percentage-based positioning, helping those elements remain aligned when the document is viewed at different zoom levels. You can also open documents in a lightbox modal triggered by a styled button, image, or other element on the page.
Toolbar presentation can be adjusted with Dark, Light, or Custom color options. The wider viewer includes choices such as a default Google Viewer, a custom PDF viewer, an interactive flipbook, or a slideshow-style slider. Download labels, placement, behavior, and filenames can be configured, while download counts and visitor limits are available for supported download workflows.
Document libraries and publishing options
The Document Library module provides a structured way to organize multiple files. Add documents from your device, Media Library, or a URL, then rename or delete them as needed. Libraries can include search, filtering, sorting by file size, name, or recent upload, responsive layouts, and controls for view and download buttons. Visibility settings determine whether icons, file details, dates, and action buttons appear.
