Advanced cart optimization for WooCommerce
Caddy Pro extends Caddy – WooCommerce Side Cart & Free Shipping Bar with advanced customization, analytics, recommendations, reward levels, and workflow controls. It is designed for stores that want to give shoppers a fast way to manage cart contents while creating more structured opportunities for promotions and additional purchases.
Caddy replaces the standard WooCommerce cart experience with a sticky AJAX side cart, also known as a floating cart, sliding cart, cart drawer, or mini cart. The drawer opens from the edge of the screen and lets customers review products, change quantities, apply coupons, and continue toward checkout without loading a separate cart page. Cart operations use the WooCommerce Store API, with reactive updates and server-synced cart state.
Pro features for merchandising and promotions
- Cart tracking and analytics dashboard: review cart activity through the dashboard included with the Pro edition.
- Multi-tier reward levels: create reward structures involving free shipping, free gifts, and discounts.
- Workflow automation: trigger targeted product recommendations, popup notifications, and automatically applied coupons according to cart contents, cart total, product categories, page, or customer role.
- Recommendation controls: define product recommendation exclusions and fallback rules, and hide out-of-stock products from recommendations.
- Subscription upsells: show in-cart product subscription upsells when used with the All Products for WooCommerce Subscriptions extension.
- Promotional messaging: add an in-cart announcement bar, display notices when products or saved items are added or removed, promote custom coupon offers, and customize a welcome message for new users.
Cart appearance and saved-item controls
Caddy Pro includes seven cart icon styles and more than 30 custom color options. You can change the cart bubble position on the screen and hide Caddy on specific pages. The Pro controls also let you show save-for-later buttons on product pages and shop archives, manage their placement on shop archives, and adjust the free shipping meter with exclusions.
The underlying Caddy experience includes a responsive floating cart, real-time AJAX cart updates, a free shipping progress meter, in-cart upsells and cross-sells, save-for-later functionality for logged-in users, quick AJAX add-to-cart actions, navigation links, Elementor widgets, and a floating cart bubble with a live quantity indicator. The interface uses the WordPress Interactivity API and WooCommerce Store API, with no jQuery dependency.
Practical store workflows
Use reward levels to present progressively stronger incentives as cart totals increase. Apply workflow rules to recommend relevant products or display a notification for a particular category, page, customer role, or cart value. Use exclusions and fallback rules to keep recommendations relevant, while the free shipping meter and coupon messages provide visible promotional context inside the cart.
Caddy is documented as working with most themes and plugins. Tested examples include WooCommerce Subscriptions, WooCommerce Product Bundles, All Products for WooCommerce Subscriptions, Elementor, Divi, GeneratePress, Flatsome, Astra, Hello Elementor, Kadence, OceanWP, and Storefront.
