Create Image and Video Sliders in Gutenberg
Algori Video and Image Slider Premium is a Gutenberg block plugin for building image sliders, video sliders, image carousels, slideshows, hero sections, and header presentations directly within WordPress posts and pages. It provides additional controls for tailoring how media is displayed, how visitors move through slides, and how the slider behaves across different layouts.
The plugin works with the Gutenberg editor. Add the Image & Video Slider block, upload images or videos, or select media from the WordPress media library. Multiple items can be selected from the library before adding them to the slider. Once the media is in place, use the block inspector to adjust the available settings.
Premium Slider Controls
The Premium edition expands the presentation options beyond the basic slider controls. Choose from 14 slider dot styles and 14 slider arrow styles to better match the surrounding design. Navigation dots and arrows can be shown or hidden, while slideshow autoplay can be enabled or disabled.
- Add text and a call-to-action button over the slider.
- Pause autoplay when visitors click.
- Enable right-to-left direction or vertical direction.
- Apply slide fade effects.
- Enable lazy loading.
- Use center mode and an infinite slider loop.
- Adjust slider animation speed and autoplay speed.
- Show multiple slides and scroll multiple slides.
- Display slides in rows.
Video, Layout, and Alignment Settings
For video-based sliders, the Premium controls include video settings such as autoplay, muted playback, controls, and loop behavior. These options help you configure the viewing experience for media-led sections, whether the slider is used for a visual introduction, featured content, or a rotating presentation.
Image sliders can use left, right, center, wide, or full-width alignment. These alignment choices make it possible to place the block within a standard content area or give it a broader visual presence on the page. Combined with multiple-slide display, rows, direction, and animation settings, the block can support different content structures without requiring a separate slider layout.
Practical Uses
- Present a series of featured images in a homepage slideshow.
- Build a hero area with images, videos, text, and a call-to-action button.
- Show product, portfolio, or project images in a carousel.
- Use a header slider to introduce a page or section.
- Combine several media items in a compact, navigable presentation.
Installation and Setup
Install and activate the plugin in your WordPress website. Open a post or page in the Gutenberg editor and insert the Image & Video Slider block. Upload media or choose items from the media library, then configure the slider through the block inspector. Adjust navigation, autoplay, direction, animation, layout, and video options as needed, and publish the page to view the finished slider.
Algori Video and Image Slider is designed for Gutenberg and does not work with other page builders. Themes optimized for Gutenberg are recommended for the intended block-editor experience.
