Reset and manage WordPress with more control
Advanced WordPress Reset Pro is designed for developers, site owners, and WordPress enthusiasts who need practical tools for resetting, troubleshooting, cleaning up, and automating WordPress environments. It brings full resets, targeted tools, reusable collections, scheduling, snapshots, and compatibility testing into one plugin.
The Pro edition extends the basic site reset with deeper controls for development workflows, recurring maintenance, demonstration sites, and testing. Because reset operations can affect databases and content, the plugin also includes snapshot and restoration features that provide a way to return to an earlier database state.
Three ways to reset a site
Site Reset
Site Reset focuses on the database and its content while leaving important site elements in place. It removes pages, posts, comments, custom tables, and users other than the current administrator. Files, uploads, themes, child themes, plugins, basic WordPress settings, and non-WordPress database tables remain untouched.
This approach is useful when you want to start over without re-uploading media, reinstalling themes and plugins, or reconfiguring user access.
Nuclear Reset
The Pro-only Nuclear Reset option is intended for a total reboot. It removes almost everything, including files, custom settings, and database tables. The current user, the plugin’s files and data, and non-WordPress database tables are kept so you can continue to access the site and use the reset plugin.
Custom Reset
Custom Reset lets you define what should be activated, deactivated, deleted, kept, or changed. You can choose theme actions, plugin actions, users to retain, and blog information after the reset. Each element can also be left unchanged. Saved preferences can be reused as tailored reset configurations.
Partial tools, collections, and scheduling
For more focused maintenance, Pro includes 37 partial reset tools. These can target selected parts of a WordPress site instead of resetting the whole environment. For example, you can reset menus and widgets while leaving other areas untouched.
You can combine selected tools into Collections and run them together with one click. Collections can support partial resets, cleanup tasks, or optimization work. Automation and scheduling let the system execute a collection at a chosen time and frequency, which is useful for recurring maintenance or repeatedly resetting a demonstration site.
Snapshots and WP Switcher
Snapshots create full copies of the database for restoration when needed. They can provide an undo point for reset operations and may also help restore a damaged or hacked database. Snapshots do not include site files and therefore do not replace file backups.
The Pro WP Switcher feature supports in-depth compatibility testing for plugin and theme developers. It helps developers test creations and troubleshoot them across the WordPress version used for testing.
Installation and first use
Install and activate Advanced WordPress Reset Pro in your WordPress environment, then review its reset, tool, collection, snapshot, and scheduling options. Select the reset scope or tools required for the task, save reusable custom configurations or collections where helpful, and review the selected actions before running them. For operations affecting important data, create a snapshot first and remember that snapshots cover the database rather than files.
