Flexible content displays in Gutenberg
Advanced Post Block Pro is a Gutenberg block plugin for presenting posts, pages, and custom post types in structured, responsive layouts. It is designed for blogs, magazines, news websites, and other content-heavy WordPress sites that need more control over how published content is selected and displayed.
The Pro edition adds premium templates, exclusive layouts, deeper query controls, and additional presentation settings. You can build dynamic post sections directly in the block editor, adjust the content shown, and refine the appearance without coding.
Premium layouts and templates
Pro unlocks the full Template Library, including Pro-only layouts that can be imported from the editor toolbar. The library includes search, category filters, Free/Pro filters, live previews, and a favorites tab for keeping frequently used layouts accessible.
Additional Pro layouts include Grid 1, Timeline, List Left/Right Even-Odd, and Overlay Content Box sub-layouts. Timeline displays can present content vertically or horizontally, with controls for maximum width, orientation, line width, dot style, dot position, and dot size. Dates can appear inline, in the gutter, or on a badge, with year and month grouping available.
Interactive presentation options
The Pro accordion themes include With Thumbnail, Numbered FAQ, Split Panel, and Minimal Lines. You can allow multiple panels to remain open, set animation speed, choose from 12 additional indicator icon sets, and use Lift or Zoom hover animations.
For ticker displays, Pro provides controls for direction, speed, interval, height, visible post count, and pausing when the pointer hovers over the ticker. News ticker settings include the label, theme, type, direction, speed, animation, and hover pause behavior. These options are useful for headlines, announcements, compact news bars, and long lists.
Targeted content selection
Advanced Post Block supports query controls for choosing standard posts, pages, or custom post types. Filter content by category, tag, author, keyword, or custom taxonomy, control ordering and offsets, and include or exclude exact posts by ID. Pro query presets provide quicker configurations for Popular, Random, Sticky, Most Comments, Related Posts, and other supported selections.
Content can be browsed through pagination, previous and next navigation, load more controls, or infinite scroll. AJAX-based loading allows additional posts to appear without a page reload. Post view tracking and popularity sorting can help highlight frequently viewed content.
Design and workflow
Control the visibility of featured images, titles, metadata, excerpts, and read more links. Metadata can include the date, author, and categories. The block also supports alignment, typography, padding, colors, borders, shadows, hover animation, backgrounds, and responsive behavior for mobile, tablet, and desktop screens.
When a block is not the most convenient placement method, shortcode support lets you display post blocks elsewhere on the site. The block works within the WordPress editor, where settings can be adjusted through the block panel and previewed as part of the page or post.
