Save addresses for repeat WooCommerce orders
Address Book Pro for WooCommerce gives customers a way to store multiple billing and shipping addresses and retrieve them during checkout. Instead of entering the same details for every order, customers can select a saved address and keep their checkout information organized.
Saved addresses can also be updated or modified from the customer’s My Account area, or added as part of the checkout process. This makes the plugin suitable for shoppers who regularly use different delivery locations or billing details.
Customer address book tools
The address book settings are available under WooCommerce > Settings > Address Book. From there, the store can configure the address book behavior for billing and shipping information.
- Enable a billing and shipping address book
- Make Add New Address the default selection
- Allow billing or shipping address nicknames during checkout
- Limit the number of billing addresses each user can save
- Enable or disable import and export functionality
Customers can import and export their saved addresses when that functionality is enabled. Address nicknames can also help distinguish between multiple saved entries during the checkout process.
Pro tools for store administration
The Pro edition adds back-office support for working with customer address books from the WooCommerce administration area. When adding an order through the admin, you can select from the customer’s saved address book.
Administrators can also manage a customer’s address book directly from the customer’s user profile. This provides a practical way to review or maintain saved address information when an order is being created or customer details need attention.
Designed for the Classic WooCommerce checkout
Address Book Pro currently supports the Classic WooCommerce checkout. It does not currently work with the WooCommerce Block Checkout. The address book stores multiple shipping addresses, but it does not send one order to multiple locations. Customers who need deliveries to several destinations should complete multiple orders.
Address fields and custom data
The plugin uses standard WooCommerce address functions, so standard methods for modifying address fields continue to apply. The source information notes testing with standard filters and with WooCommerce Checkout Field Editor.
Most standard custom fields work with the Address Book. However, custom fields added by a plugin and updated through JavaScript may not always be handled correctly. If a custom field does not populate as expected, the field implementation and the other plugin involved may need to be reviewed for compatibility.
Practical store uses
- Allowing customers to keep separate home, work, or other delivery addresses
- Reducing repeated address entry for returning shoppers
- Giving customers control over saved billing and shipping information
- Helping administrators select saved addresses when adding orders
- Managing customer address books from user profiles
