Review Accessibility Across Your WordPress Website
WP ADA Compliance Check Pro is a WordPress accessibility solution for evaluating website content and other site elements for accessibility issues. It is designed for workflows involving Section 508 and WCAG 2.2 Level A/AA standards, with checks intended to help identify problems that may affect accessible web pages.
The Pro edition extends scanning beyond the limitations described for the basic version. It can scan the entire website, including posts, pages, custom post types, theme files, widgets, shortcodes, custom fields, terms, menus, excerpts, archives, iframes, PDF files, CSS files, and linked pages. This broader coverage helps bring content and site-level elements into one review process.
Checks, Reports, and Corrections
WP ADA Compliance Check Pro includes 83 accessibility checks, including checks that are not available in the free version. The plugin can evaluate content when it is published, or you can run a complete scan to review existing website content.
When issues are found, accessibility reports provide references and instructions for addressing them. Reports may be printed, emailed, or exported in Excel format. This gives teams different ways to document findings, share results, and organize accessibility work.
Many common issues can be corrected automatically through filter options built into the plugin. These options are intended to reduce repetitive work and provide a more convenient way to apply available corrections. The Pro edition also includes WordPress improvements and other time-saving features.
Site Elements Covered by Pro
- WordPress content: Review posts, pages, custom post types, excerpts, terms, menus, and archives.
- Theme and interface elements: Scan theme files, widgets, shortcodes, and custom fields.
- Embedded and linked resources: Evaluate iframes, linked pages, PDF files, and CSS files.
- Document review: Identify untagged PDF files as part of the accessibility scan.
- HTML validation workflow: Integrate with the free HTML Validation plugin to help pinpoint HTML validation errors that result in inaccessible web pages.
Accessibility Widget and Editor Compatibility
The Pro edition includes a web accessibility widget intended to enhance website accessibility. The plugin works with Gutenberg, Elementor, Beaver Builder, ClassicPress, and Divi, allowing it to fit into different WordPress editing workflows.
For organizations and site owners reviewing accessibility across varied content types, the combination of automated checks, referenced reports, correction filters, and broader scanning can provide a structured process for identifying issues. The plugin evaluates website elements; it does not replace the need to review findings and apply appropriate changes.
Installation
Install WP ADA Compliance Check Pro in WordPress, then use its scanning and reporting workflow to review published content and site elements. Run a complete scan or evaluate content as it is published, review the referenced findings, apply available automatic corrections where appropriate, and use the reports for follow-up work.
