Improve WordPress email delivery
Easy WP SMTP Pro helps WordPress sites send outgoing email through an authenticated SMTP connection or a supported transactional mailer instead of relying on the hosting server’s default PHP mail() function. This provides a central way to configure email delivery and manage messages sent by WordPress and other plugins.
The plugin includes a setup wizard to guide the mailer or SMTP configuration process. Its Gmail and Google integration is designed for a quick setup: sign in to your Google account and allow Easy WP SMTP to send messages on your behalf. You can also connect a custom SMTP server or use supported services and providers.
Supported mailers and SMTP connections
Easy WP SMTP Pro supports configuration through several transactional mailers and email providers. Available options include:
- Amazon SES
- Gmail, Google Mail, and Google Workspace
- Microsoft 365 and Outlook
- SendLayer, Mailgun, Mailjet, SendGrid, and Brevo
- SMTP.com, Postmark, SparkPost, SMTP2GO, and Zoho Mail
- Other SMTP for configuring another SMTP mail server
This flexibility is useful for sites that need to connect an existing provider, move between mail services, or use a custom SMTP server. Once the connection is configured, the plugin routes outgoing WordPress messages through the selected connection.
Logs, reports, and email troubleshooting
Email Logging stores a record of messages sent from your website. The log can support record-keeping, email compliance work, and troubleshooting during development. Pro tools also let you resend or forward an individual email, or resend multiple messages in bulk.
Open and click tracking provides additional information about email engagement. Email Reports, an enhanced dashboard widget, and an enhanced weekly email summary help you review activity from your WordPress email system.
Debug Events records failed sending attempts and provides information about why an attempt failed and which plugin sent the email. You can enable the Debug Email Sending option to log all sending attempts, not only failures, when you need more detailed investigation.
Alerts and backup delivery
Email Alerts notify you when an email fails to send from your site. Notifications can be delivered by email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, SMS, or custom webhooks, giving you options for fitting email monitoring into an existing workflow.
A Backup Connection can be configured to handle delivery when the primary connection fails. This adds a secondary route for sites that need a fallback connection for outgoing WordPress email.
Typical workflow
- Choose a transactional mailer or SMTP server.
- Use the setup wizard to enter or authorize the connection.
- Send WordPress email through the configured connection.
- Review logs, reports, and tracking information.
- Use debug events, alerts, or a backup connection when delivery needs attention.
Installation and setup
Install Easy WP SMTP on your WordPress site, open its configuration settings, and select a supported mailer or the Other SMTP option. Follow the setup wizard, authorize the selected account where required, and configure logging, alerts, debugging, or a backup connection according to your workflow.
