Focused WordPress toolbar management
Admin Bar Editor Pro helps site owners, agencies, freelancers, membership sites, LMS projects, community sites, and product teams create cleaner WordPress toolbar experiences. It provides a visual way to manage the admin bar in both the backend and frontend, so users can see the controls and shortcuts relevant to their work.
Instead of editing code, administrators can use the plugin’s settings page to control toolbar items, organize menus, and adjust the experience for different users. The result is a more focused interface for clients, editors, authors, instructors, members, and support users.
Backend and frontend control
The AdminBar Editor page is organized into Backend, Frontend, and Advanced sections. In Backend, you can enable or disable core toolbar items such as the WordPress logo menu, site name, visit site link, updates, comments, and the New menu. Built-in submenu entries, including Post, Media, Page, and User, can also be managed.
Drag-and-drop handles make it possible to reorder items in the backend toolbar. In Frontend, you can manage the toolbar displayed on the public side of the site. You can disable the frontend admin bar globally or keep it visible while controlling which items appear.
Pro capabilities
Admin Bar Editor Pro adds role-based controls for creating different toolbar experiences. You can hide the frontend admin bar for selected user roles or individual usernames while leaving it enabled for others. This is useful when administrators, instructors, members, clients, and content teams need different levels of access to toolbar controls.
Pro also allows you to add custom menu items and links to the admin bar. Custom entries can help place frequently used destinations where the relevant users can reach them quickly.
Toolbar styling
The Advanced section includes Pro styling options for the toolbar. You can set a custom background color, use a gradient background, change toolbar text color, customize dropdown appearance, and adjust the style and color of the New button. These options support branded or visually consistent toolbar layouts for agencies and client projects.
Practical workflow
- Open the AdminBar Editor page in the WordPress dashboard.
- Choose Backend or Frontend and review the available toolbar items.
- Toggle items on or off and reorder them with the drag handles.
- Use Pro role controls, custom menus, and styling options where needed.
- Save the settings to apply the configuration.
Configuration is stored in the database and retained during updates. Deactivating the plugin restores the default WordPress admin bar, while reactivating it restores the saved layout and options.
