Take control of WordPress updates
Easy Updates Manager Premium is a WordPress plugin for managing updates across a single site installation or WordPress Multisite. It gives you detailed control over core, plugin, theme, and translation updates, helping you decide what should update automatically, what should remain unchanged, and when update activity should take place.
The Premium edition extends the plugin’s update controls with tools for scheduling, compatibility checks, backups, logging, notifications, configuration transfer, and external integrations. It is designed for site owners and administrators who need a more deliberate update workflow than one-click or fully automatic updating alone.
Premium update controls
- Safe mode: checks compatibility with your WordPress version and the server’s PHP version.
- Scheduled automatic updates: run automatic updates at times you choose to help avoid unwanted downtime.
- Delayed updates: postpone automatic updates during hotfixes or periods of frequent releases.
- Version control protection: prevent updates from occurring to plugins and themes under version control.
- Check plugins: check plugins that have been removed from the WordPress Plugin Directory.
Backups, records, and notifications
Premium can integrate with UpdraftPlus to create an automatic backup before your site is updated. This places a backup step within the update workflow rather than leaving it as a separate manual task.
Logging tools help you review what was updated and when. External logging can provide alerts when new updates have been logged, while the log clearing schedule lets you remove entries according to your own schedule. You can also export logs for printing or download them as CSV or JSON files for a selected date range.
Email notification options include weekly or monthly reports of pending updates. The plugin also supports configurable update notification recipients, including a single email address or multiple comma-separated addresses.
Configuration and integrations
Import and export settings make it possible to move configuration from one site to another for faster setup. Premium also fully integrates with UpdraftCentral and offers webhooks for integrating with third-party services. These webhooks can be used to run automatic updates through cron or Zapier.
Anonymization controls what is sent to the WordPress API. White-label options disable notices and customize what clients see, which can be useful when managing sites for others. The plugin can also hide plugin and theme updates where custom-developed components need different handling.
Using Premium in practice
A site administrator can first choose which core, plugin, theme, or translation updates are permitted. Automatic updates can then be scheduled, delayed, or protected according to the site’s workflow. Before an update, an UpdraftPlus backup can be created; afterward, logs and notifications provide a record of activity.
Installation
Install Easy Updates Manager Premium in your WordPress site, then open its settings to configure update rules, scheduling, backups, logging, notifications, integrations, and white-label preferences. For multisite use, apply the available controls according to your network’s administration needs.
