Customize the WooCommerce checkout experience
Checkout Field Editor for WooCommerce Pro helps store administrators manage the fields shown during WooCommerce checkout. Its drag-and-drop form builder can be used to edit, add, reorder, enable, disable, or hide checkout fields without changing the basic store workflow.
The paid edition brings advanced field controls, conditional display options, custom sections, validation, and pricing rules to stores that need more than the default checkout layout. Customer-submitted values can also be displayed in order details and WooCommerce order emails.
Flexible field and section management
Use the editor to modify default WooCommerce checkout fields or create new custom fields. Fields can be positioned within checkout sections, including between existing default fields. The editor supports changing field order and adjusting whether fields use half-width or full-width display.
Beyond the default WooCommerce sections, the paid features allow you to create new checkout sections. These sections can be placed at 13 different positions. Custom sections can also be edited, duplicated, or deleted as your checkout structure changes.
Conditional checkout controls
Conditional checkout fields and conditional checkout sections help present relevant information at the appropriate stage. Rules can be based on existing fields, products, product variations, categories, user roles, shipping methods, and payment methods.
This makes the editor suitable for stores with different checkout requirements. For example, a store can request additional information for a selected product, show fields for a particular shipping method, or create sections that respond to the customer’s choices.
Advanced paid capabilities
- More than 24 field types: The Premium field set includes text, hidden, email, telephone, password, number, textarea, radio, select, multi-select, checkbox, checkbox group, heading, paragraph, label, date picker, time picker, datetime picker, color picker, file upload, Google place select, image group, URL, toggle switch, and color group fields.
- Account registration fields: Add fields to the checkout and My Account page account registration.
- Custom validation: Apply RegEx validation rules to text and textarea inputs.
- Additional charges: Add an extra fee based on a field selection and apply tax to that extra fee.
- Custom styling: Set a custom CSS class for individual checkout fields.
- Multilingual support: WPML and Polylang are supported.
Practical store uses
Use the plugin to collect delivery notes, additional customer information, product-specific details, or structured selections. Paragraph and header fields can add instructions and headings between checkout inputs, while file upload, date, time, location, and selection fields support more specialized forms.
Submitted extra fields can be viewed in the default order data box on the order detail page and included in order email details. This keeps additional checkout information available to the store team after an order is placed.
Installation and setup
After activating the plugin, open WooCommerce > Checkout Field in the WordPress admin area. Review the available fields, add or edit fields and sections, then use the drag-and-drop editor to set their order and display settings. Configure conditions, validation, fees, or tax options where needed, and check the resulting checkout flow before publishing the changes.
