Build a visible sales feed
PiWeb Live sales notification for WooCommerce Pro adds sales notification popups to a WooCommerce store. The plugin can show original orders as a live sales feed for other visitors, helping present recent purchasing activity and highlight products that are being viewed or purchased.
The feed does not require connecting the store to a separate backend platform. You can also create virtual orders for notifications. These can be generated from visitors’ recent product views or from selected products. Virtual orders are generated at runtime and removed afterward rather than being stored on the website.
Control the message content
Create a custom notification message to suit your store. Supported shortcodes include {date}, {time}, {first_name}, {city}, {state}, {country}, {product}, and {price}. With original orders, the shortcode information comes from the order. With virtual orders, the information is generated automatically.
Pro lets you select different date and time formats for the date and time shortcodes. You can also show how long ago an order was placed, such as “2 hours back.” The visitor’s actual country can be used in fake sales popups, while administrators can exclude individual orders from appearing in the live feed.
Use Pro controls for privacy and stock messaging
- Give customers an option to exclude their information from the live feed.
- Translate the notification message using the plugin’s translation system.
- Prevent out-of-stock products from appearing in notifications.
- Show stock remaining to create a stock-related urgency message.
- Set a fake stock amount for products where stock management is not used.
- Choose a product placeholder image.
Customers can dismiss notifications completely, and you can set how long notifications remain disabled for that user. You can also disable the closing option if visitors should not be able to close the notification themselves.
Choose where and how alerts appear
Pro includes several animation options for showing and hiding the popup. You can display notifications throughout the site or control visibility by page conditions, including the front page, product page, cart page, checkout page, shop page, and product category page.
Use the settings to control the popup’s position, background color, background image, width, image width, text color, font size, and font weight. You can link the image to the product and choose whether the link opens in the same tab or a new tab. Text generated by shortcodes can also have separate color, size, and weight settings.
The notification can be disabled on mobile using the direct setting available in the basic settings. The source also states that theme editing is not required.
Typical store workflow
Choose whether to use original orders, virtual orders, or both. Set the order age used for the feed, select products where applicable, write the notification message, and configure its presentation. Then decide which site areas should display the alerts and whether visitors can dismiss them. This gives you a way to present recent activity, selected products, or product-view-based notifications from one settings area.
